November 19, 2024The Telangana State Board of Secondary Education (TSBSE) is the education board of the state of Telangana. It is responsible for administering and managing the education system from classes 1 to 10. The state-level board was established in 2016 at Nampally, Hyderabad, to ensure proper discipline and quality in the primary and secondary level education in Telangana.
Some of the functions of the Telangana State Board of Secondary Education include designing the course curriculum, prescribing the books for each subject, issue guidelines and affiliate schools which further need to abide by them.
The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Telangana, is governed by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Telangana. SCERT consists subject matter experts who design the curriculum for all levels, from classes 1 to 12. The Class 6 syllabus is also prescribed by the same committee.
SCERT prescribes six subjects for Class 6 under the Telangana State Board, which include three languages and three core subjects. The three core subjects are offered in seven mediums – Telugu, Tamil, English, Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, and Marathi. BSE, Telangana, gives liberty to students when it comes to choosing the first two languages.
