The grading system is the bifurcation of results as per the marks secured by students in their final exams. The BSE Odisha grading system determines the grade and remark awarded to students. The marking scheme for board and non-board classes is different from each other. In the grading system for primary classes, students are awarded a grade and remark based on the marks percentage they scored in their respective class final examination. In the case of secondary classes, the marks scored by students out of the total maximum marks of all subjects will determine the grade and grade value, which will reflect in their marksheet.
The grading system of BSE Odisha primary classes is divided into 5 grades. Each grade is determined by the percentage of marks secured by the students in their final examination. And the grade obtained will decide the remark allocated to the student. The grades range from A* to D, where A* is the best and highest, while D is the lowest. Practical exams are conducted in classes 10, 11, and 12. They form an integral part of the final exam. The final exam is divided into practical and theoretical exams. Practical exams are conducted nearly one month before the theory papers begin. The marks secured in the practical exam are added to the marks obtained in the theory exam. Students must also clear the practical exam. Students can also score full marks in the practical exams, which can improve their average score in the subject. Also, having a clear, practical understanding of a concept enables students to write a comprehensive answer on the same topic in the theory exam. Thus, they can improve their average score in such a subject. Practical exams are not held in all the subjects and are conducted only in Science-based subjects.
In the BSE Odisha Class 10 and Class 12 board exams, students need to score 33% aggregate. Apart from that, they also need to secure the minimum marks in each subject. If students fail to obtain the minimum subject-wise marks and 33% aggregate, they must take the BSE Odisha compartment exam for that subject/s. To take the compartment exam, students need to register for it separately. The schools do the registration process. The compartment exam is generally conducted a month after declaration regular results.
To obtain maximum marks in any class exam, students need to have a very strong conceptual understanding of the topics. In each subject, there are concepts that students may find difficult to understand. Thus, to help students learn and understand all the topics, we provide 3D interactive videos that explain the concepts through animation. Students can watch videos for BSE Odisha Board classes 6 to 12 on the Embibe app.
