In Bihar Board secondary classes, practical exams hold a certain fraction of the total marks for the final exam. The BSEB practical exams are conducted nearly one month before the theory exam is conducted. Students must pass the practical exam. It is also a good opportunity for students to improve their aggregate marks in a subject.
Practical exams are not conducted for all the subjects. They are conducted only in Science subjects. The marks obtained in the practical exam are added to the marks scored in the final examination. Students should go through their syllabus to know the list of practicals. They should understand the practical tests done at the school level to perform well for the final exam.
BSEB compartmental exams are the supplementary exams that students fail in the regular exam. BSEB compartment exams are conducted only for board classes 10 and 12. Students who fail in one or more subjects in the Bihar Board Class 10 or 12 regular exams are allowed to reappear for the exam and clear it. They can obtain admission to the next class only if they clear the exam.
To sit for the compartment examination, students need to register for it. The registration forms are released by the Board, and students can submit them with the help of their school administration. The exam is usually conducted one month after the announcement of the regular exam results. If students fail in the supplementary exams too, they need to repeat the entire year and sit again for regular exams.

An effective way to enhance command over the concepts is to solve the sample papers for the Bihar Board classes. Sample papers help students get acquainted with the type of questions that can be asked about a particular topic. Thus, it expands their area of knowledge and prepares them to answer any kind of question in the final examination.
Students who practice the BSEB sample papers have an advantage over those who do not. They are better prepared mentally to answer difficult or tricky questions, and the practice helps them remember formulas, laws, definitions, key points and other important factors easily. Students in BSEB Class 10 and Class 12 must practice the sample papers to be ready for the board exam.
Apart from practising Bihar Board sample papers, students should also take mock tests for all subjects. Mock tests provide the simulated experience of the actual exam. Embibe mock tests provide detailed feedback on the test submitted, highlighting the students’ strong and weak areas and topics where they need to improve their understanding.
Students can also create their own mock tests based on a topic, chapter, subject, exam duration, difficulty level of exams, etc. Attempting mock tests also helps students to learn time management and answer all the necessary questions, review their answers and even attempt extra questions.
While doing self-study, students should prepare notes by highlighting each topic’s important points. It is important to mention the key factors of a topic to fetch maximum marks in the exam. When the final exam arrives, students do not have the time to study the entire textbook for each subject. Thus, revision notes are the best way to study effectively. To help students prepare for the exam, we will shortly provide BSEB notes and revision notes. Refer to the table below for the same:
