The selection process comprises three stages: Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standards Test (PST), and Medical Examination.

Candidates must qualify in all stages of the selection process to become eligible for the post and move further in the BSF GD Constable recruitment. The BSF GD Constable computer-based examination consists of one objective-type paper. The paper consists of 80 questions worth 2 marks each. There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer. The exam will be conducted in English and Hindi.
