How to Fill Out CAT 2025 Application Form?

The CAT exam registration entails three steps: online registration, form completion, and fee payment. Check out the registration process in the sections below:

1st Step: CAT Registration 2025

Follow the below-mentioned steps to do registration and generate the User ID and Password:

• Visit the CAT official website – iimcat.ac.in.
• Click on “Register” under ‘New Candidate Registration.’
• A new page will open. Read the instructions provided here carefully.
• Enter the necessary details – Name, Date of Birth, Email Address, Country, and Mobile Number. Make sure to enter a valid/active email address and mobile number.
• Click on “Generate OTP”.
• Candidates will be redirected to a new page where they will have to enter a captcha and check the box against the declaration statement.
• Enter the OTP sent to the mobile number in the specified field and click on the validate the OTP option.
• Submit the CAT registration & application form.
• Once the registration is complete, candidates will receive a User ID and Password in the registered email address and mobile number. Note them down.

2nd Step: Filling up CAT 2025 Application Form

The CAT registration form can be filled in after successfully receiving the user ID and password. It will help in carrying the procedure forward. After receiving the login credentials, follow the step-by-step process mentioned below to fill in the application form:

• Visit the official website – iimcat.ac.in. 
• Click on “Login” under ‘Registered Candidate Login’.
• Enter the User ID and Password.
• Click on the “Login” button.
• Enter the following details after logging in to the account:
  a. Personal Details:
  i. Father’s/Husband’s/Guardian’s Name and Mother’s Name
  ii. Category of the Candidate
  iii. Nationality
  iv. Whether or Not a PwD Candidate
• In the case of the SC/ST/OBC-NC/PwD category, download the necessary certificate, enter the necessary details, self-attest the certificate, and scan it as a PDF document to be uploaded. In addition to this, candidates have to:
  – Provide the Communication Address, Postal Address, Alternate Email Address, and Emergency Mobile Number
  – Upload scanned images of the Photograph, Signature, and SC/ST/NC-OBC and/or PwD certificates (as applicable).
  
  b. Academic Details:
  i. SSC/10th/Equivalent Details – Aggregate of all subjects in the mark sheet irrespective of the regulation of the Board.
  ii. HSC/12th/Equivalent/Diploma Course Details – Aggregate of all subjects in the mark sheet irrespective of the regulation of the Board
  iii. Bachelor’s Degree Details – Aggregate as per the norms of the University/Board
  iv. Master‘s Degree Details
  v. Other Professional Degree Details – Aggregate for the degree in which candidates have scored the maximum.
  
  c. Work Experience:
  Full-time work experience for all industry types in months
  
  d. Programs:
  i. Programs
  ii. Interview City from the drop-down menu
  
  e. Test Cities:
  Choice of six test cities in order of preference
  
• Click on “Save & Continue” to go to the Payment section.
• Verify if all the details entered are correct.

Candidates must preview the completed form before paying the CAT registration fee. After paying the fees, they can bring no change to the registration form.

3rd Step: Pay CAT Application Fee

The registration fee for the General category and SC, ST is different. The CAT application form fee for different categories are:

• Select the Payment Mode from any of the three options available:
  • a. Credit Card
  • b. Debit Card
  • c. Internet Banking/Wallets/Cash Cards.
• Make the payment of the CAT application fee.
• After successful payment, a message will be displayed on the screen. Take a screenshot of the same. A confirmation email will also be sent to the registered email address.

Note – The registration fee will be non-refundable, and the processing fee will also be charged. The mode of payment is online.

Confirmation Email After Successful CAT Registration

After paying the registration fee, candidates will receive a confirmation mail. This should be kept safe as this is proof of fee payment for the CAT exam registration. The candidate will even receive a confirmation message that will be sent to the candidate’s registered mobile.

Forgot CAT Login ID & Password?

If candidates forget the login ID and password, they must not panic as this can be retrieved easily. They must click on the “Forgot user ID/ password” option and enter the registered email ID and the captcha to get the user Id. The same procedure will be followed for retrieving the password.

Mistakes to Avoid During CAT Registration

Candidates who wish to fill out the CAT application form must remember the following points during the CAT registration procedure. These include:

• It is mandatory to fill in all the details that are marked “*” during CAT registration.
• Candidates must ensure that there are no spelling errors, as some fields cannot be edited later.
• Candidates must click on “Save & Continue” after completing each section of the form.
• As the CAT form can be filled in several sessions, it is essential to save the information after each session.
• Any changes or corrections can be made until the form payment fee point arises. Editing cannot be done further after this point.
• There will be no change in the section after registering, so be careful when registering to avoid mistakes.
• Before the final submission, double-check all the fields filled in to ensure that the details in the CAT exam form match the educational documents.

CAT Correction Window 2025

Aspirants can make corrections in the uploaded images of photographs and signatures and can even change the test city choice according to the applicants’ choice. The correction window will be opened soon for candidates who successfully filled in the application form and paid the fee. How To Make Corrections?

The application form can be edited after the successful submission of the form and when the correction window opens. Candidates who wish to make any corrections to the CAT application form must follow the below-mentioned steps:

• Candidates must visit the official website.
• Click on the tab “Existing User”.
• Enter the login credentials, i.e. User ID & Password, and then click on the “Login” tab.
• Candidates must change the images of the photograph & signature and make further changes in the test city.
• After making all the changes, candidates must click on the “Save” option.
• After this, candidates must download the modified CAT registration form.

Do’s & Dont’s for Uploading CAT Photograph & Signature

Candidates who are willing to fill in the application form must consider the following Do’s and Don’t regarding the upload of photographs for smooth completion of the application form. Let’s have a look at the below instructions:

Do’s with CAT Photograph

• The candidate’s photograph must be the latest one, i.e. it should not be old than six months.
• The background in the photograph should be white.
• Candidates must be facing toward the camera, and their faces should be visible.
• The candidates’ eyes, nose, and hair must be visible in the photograph.
• In the passport-size photograph, the shoulders of the candidate must also be visible.
• The photo must be clicked by a professional photographer.

Don’t with CAT Photograph

• Candidates must not upload pictures that have a landscape background.
• A picture that is not straight will lead to the cancellation of the application form.
• A photograph in which the candidate is not facing straight will not be acceptable.
• Self-taken photographs or selfies are not acceptable in the application form.
• Candidates should not edit their photographs by adding filters to them.
• No shadow in the photograph is acceptable.

CAT Signature Details

• Candidates need to sign with a black pen on white paper.
• Candidates must ensure that they do the right signature. The candidate is considered disqualified if the signature does not match the attendance sheet.

What After Filling out the CAT Application Form?

After successfully filling in the application form, candidates must download the admit card. IIM will release the CAT 2025 admit card online. Candidates must enter the login details to download the hall ticket. It is highly mandatory to carry the admit card on exam day.
