February 1, 2025CBSE Board Class 6 Exam Pattern 2025: The Central Board of School Education, CBSE provides the guidelines for administering the CBSE Class 6 exams to its affiliated schools. CBSE Class 6 exam is not a board exam, and thus, it is conducted at the school level by adhering to the guidelines set by the board. Exams are usually conducted twice for a particular academic year – midterms and annual exams.
CBSE has created the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation(CCE) system to evaluate students’ performance in their day-to-day academic activities. This article discusses the CBSE Class 6 exam pattern. Awareness of the exam pattern helps students know the exam format and layout and helps students recognise the exam trends. It gives them an idea about the exam duration, how the evaluation is done and understand the difficulty level of the exam. Having this information makes them mentally prepared and helps them strategically plan their studies. The CBSE Class 6 curriculum requires students to study Mathematics, Science, and Social Science with two language subjects – English and a regional language of their choice. According to the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation, students will be evaluated on mainly two levels – Formative Assessment and Summative Assessment based on the CBSE 6th class syllabus.
The Formative Assessment accounts for 40% of the total marks, while the Summative Assessment accounts for 60% of the total marks. Different schools conduct the assessments in different schedules and at the discretion of the school authorities.
