CBSE Compartment Exam 2024: Procedure and Guidelines

The following are the procedures and guidelines for filling out the CBSE compartment exam form 2024:

• There are three chances for an eligible student to appear in the compartment examination: The first chance in July-August of the same year, the second chance in March of the next year, and the third/final chance in July-August of the following year. The candidate will be declared ‘Pass’ if they qualify for the compartmental subjects they failed.
• A candidate who does not appear or fails at one or all the chances of the compartment shall be treated as having failed the examination. They shall be required to reappear in all the subjects at the subsequent annual examination of the Board as per the syllabus and courses laid down for the examination concerned to pass the examination.
• The syllabus and courses for the compartmental candidates in the August examination shall be the same as applicable to the candidates of complete subjects appearing there.
• If the candidate has passed practical at the main examination, subjects involving practical work shall appear only in the theory part. Previous practical marks will be carried forward and accounted for. On the other hand, if a candidate has failed in practical, they shall have to appear in theory and practical, irrespective of the fact that they have already cleared the theory examination.
• The candidate placed in the compartment in the Secondary School Examination (Class-X) shall be admitted provisionally to Class XI until they take the first chance compartmental examination held in July/August of that year. Their admission shall be cancelled if they fail to pass the first chance compartmental examination.
