Important Instructions About CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam

Students practising the Model question paper for class 12 chemistry preparation should check the general instructions and follow them during practice and in the final board exam.

Below are some general instructions students should keep in mind for the CBSE practice papers for Chemistry:

  • The total duration of the Chemistry theory exam is 3 hours (180 minutes).
  • The maximum mark for the Chemistry theory paper is 70.
  • All the questions asked in the Chemistry theory paper are compulsory.
  • A total of 35 questions are asked in the Chemistry theory paper.
  • There will be five sections in the Chemistry theory paper: Section A, Section B, Section C, Section D, and Section E.
  • Section A of CBSE Class 12 Sample Papers for Chemistry has a total of 18 objective-type questions carrying 1 mark each.
  • Section B of the sample papers for Class 12 Chemistry will have a total of 7 questions, and each question carries 2 marks.
  • Section C consists of a total of 5 questions. Each question in this section is a short answer question and carries 3 marks each.
  • A total of 2 case-based questions are asked in Section D, each carrying 4 marks.
  • Section E consists of 3 long answer questions carrying 5 marks each. 
  • All questions are compulsory.
  • Students are not allowed to use calculators and log tables to solve the answers.
