November 12, 2024COMEDK UGET is the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test for various engineering and architecture college admissions. COMEDK is responsible for conducting and organising the testing protocols to test the merit of aspiring candidates in a transparent, non-exploitative, effective and fair procedure. The process is set up by KPCF(Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation – Medical & Dental) and KUPECA, which stands for Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association. COMEDK has 16 Medical colleges, 24 Dental colleges and approximately 150 Engineering Colleges. COMEDK, since its inception in 2004-05, has conducted the annual entrance exam for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the member institutions and has also organised single-window centralised counselling procedures over the past fifteen years.
The Government of Karnataka has appreciated the efforts of the COMEDK-appointed admission overseeing committees, and it has also been mentioned as a model examination by the Honourable Supreme Court of India. As per the instructions and guidelines of the Government of India, the National Eligibility -cum- Entrance Test (NEET) is mandated and the only acceptable entrance exam for admission of candidates into medical and dental courses in the country. COMEDK continues its process for the members of KUPECA, i.e. entrance for approximately 190 Engineering colleges.

A single-stage selection approach is used for the COMEDK exam. Please note that the COMEDK UGET will be computer-based, with English as the primary medium of instruction. The COMEDK test for engineers is divided into three sections:
Each segment will have 60 questions, and the exam will be three hours long. Correct answers will receive one mark each, and there will be no negative marking for incorrect responses.
We’ll now go through the COMEDK preparation tips for each subject. This will assist you in understanding the most important topics and how to prepare for each section.
Physics is a difficult subject to master. Without a well-planned preparation system, this portion cannot be cracked. Because the chapters are interconnected, you must have a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of each one. To plan your study for this subject, use the COMEDK Preparation Tips listed below:
With all its reactions, rules, laws, and equations, chemistry may appear to be a difficult subject. However, if well prepared, it has the opportunity to score you more marks than any other subject, as it primarily needs good application abilities. To arrange your study well, follow the COMEDK Preparation Tips for Chemistry listed below:
Mathematics has its own level of difficulty. As a result, getting through this portion is a little challenging. It is, however, not impossible to have a firm grasp of the fundamentals as well analytical and calculation skills. To ace, this section, use the COMEDK Preparation Tips for Mathematics listed below.
Students must choose the right books for their studies. As you know, the COMEDK exam pattern is a combination of 3 major subjects Physics, Chemistry, And Mathematics. The books will be based on the major syllabus of Classes 11 and 12. We are mentioning the section-wise book details here.
S.S. Krotov’s COMEDK Study Materials are widely considered one of the best study books available to students. It is based on a naturalistic approach to Physics. The books contain challenging questions marked with exclamation points, making it necessary to study in order to create a problem-solving approach. The book is excellent for candidates of other competitive exams such as BITSAT, Olympiads, and so on, in addition to COMEDK applicants. The top study books for students are Physics for Karnataka CET and COMEDK by BASE (2nd edition) and Physics for CET and COMEDK by S. Dashrathi.
RD Sharma’s Mathematics books are extremely popular. There are a number of exercises in these volumes, as well as rich drawings. To strengthen their problem-solving skills, candidates can go over the chapters and revise the practice problems based on them. BASE’s Mathematics for Karnataka CET and COMEDK, as well as M. R. Hanumantharaya’s Mathematics for Karnataka CET and COMEDK, are two of the top publications for student reference.
For COMEDK preparation, JD LEE Concise Inorganic Chemistry is a popular book. The book is written in a way that makes inorganic chemistry simple to study and comprehend. The book contains theoretical principles, images, graphics, and other materials for students to use. The book focuses on topics such as the periodic table, S- Block, and P- Block, among others. Chemistry for Karnataka CET and COMEDK by BASE and Chemistry for Karnataka CET and COMEDK by Dr Sonar Maruti H are two other books that students can use to prepare for the exam.

The following details will be mentioned on the COMEDK Scorecard 2023:
The inter-se merit rule is used as a tie-breaker in COMEDK while evaluating candidates to prepare the merit list. Inter-se merit is a scenario when two or more candidates get the same marks, and only one candidate has to be selected for the seat. In COMEDK, if such a scenario arises, the following points will be considered for selecting the candidate.
First, the candidate having a lower number of errors in Physics, Maths & Chemistry sections combined is given preference. If the tie persists, the candidate securing a higher total score in Physics and Mathematics of the COMEDK exam is given preference. If the tie is still not broken, the marks scored in the Mathematics section will be considered. Lastly, the candidate who is older in age will be considered.
