The Central Teaching Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level eligibility exam conducted by CBSE. It is a gateway to becoming a teacher in the government schools of India. Age Limit Criteria

Aspirants who wish to apply for the CTET Paper 1 exam must be above 18. There are no upper limit age criteria for the eligibility test.

Nationality Criteria

Candidates who have permanent citizenship in India can apply for the exam. Subjects of Bhutan and Nepal can also apply for the CTET.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification requirement for CTET Paper 1 exam are as follows:

• Applicants need to complete the senior secondary exam with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and have passed or appeared for the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
• The candidate has passed the senior secondary exam with 45 per cent marks and has passed or appeared for the final year examination for a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE regulations, or
• The candidate has passed the senior secondary examination with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and passed or appeared for the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.Ed), or
• Candidates must have passed the senior secondary examination with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and passed or appeared in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education or passed the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education course.

How to Apply for CTET Paper 1 Exam?

Registration for CTET 2024 began online on the official website. The candidates checked out the details here as we updated this page when the registration started. 

• 1st Step: Visit the official website of CTET – ctet.nic.in
• 2nd Step: Find and click on the “Apply Online” link from the homepage.
• 3rd Step: This will lead to an authentication form where details such as name, state, identification type, date of birth, gender, etc., should be entered.
• 4th Step: Enter all the primary information carefully because it will be saved with the profile. Enter the contact information, such as a valid email address and phone number.
• 5th Step: Log out of the portal to prevent modifications by unauthorised persons.

Steps to Fill the CTET Application Form

The steps to fill out the application form are as follows:

• 1st Step: Candidates should visit the CTET official website to complete their registration process
• 2nd Step: They should click on the “Application” option.
• 3rd Step: Registration – In the third step, candidates should fill up their CTET application forms. They should add their basic details and register by adding their basic details such as name, email ID, phone number, address, etc.
• 4th Step: Candidates will receive the “Application Number” and “Password”. They should preserve these details for future use. 
• 5th Step: Application Process – Fill in the application form per the instructions. They’ll be required to enter the following important information:

• 6th Step: Document Uploading Process – Upload the scanned documents as described by the officials.
• 7th Step: Students will now be directed to the payment gateway. It can be paid through a debit card, net banking, or credit card.

The CTET 2024 Admit Card was released on January 18, 2023. Candidates who applied for CTET 2024 must download their admit cards online from the official website. 

To download the CTET 2024 admit card, the candidates have to follow the steps mentioned below:

• Step 1: Visit the official website of CTET.
• Step 2: Find the option to download the admit card for CTET 2024 January on the homepage.
• Step 3: Click on the link to download the admit card and log in using the registration number (issued while filling out the application form) and date of birth as credentials.
• Step 4: After logging in, the CTET admit card will be displayed on the screen. Candidates have to check all the details and download the admit card.
• Step 5: After downloading the CTET Admit Card, the candidates must take a few printouts of the same.

After downloading the admit card, the candidates must check the details mentioned. CTET admit card contains important details such as the name of the candidate, father’s name, application number, roll number, gender, date of birth, date of exam and timings, exam centre address, category, candidate’s address, photo, signature, paper applied for, medium of question paper and exam instructions. 

Candidates need to keep the admit card safe till the completion of CTET. The candidates must carry their CTET admit card and a photo ID proof to the exam centre. No candidates will be allowed to enter the exam hall without these documents.

CBSE released the CTET Paper 1 Answer Key on February 7, 2024. Candidates can check the answer key on the official website of the exam-conducting body.

After the CTET answer key, the Central Board of Secondary Education declared the CTET January result on February 15, 2024. CTET results were published online on the official website. The candidates must use their login credentials to check the CTET January results on the official website.

Those who clear the CTET exam will be considered eligible for teaching jobs nationwide.

To check the result, the candidates must follow the below steps.

• Step 1: Visit the official website of CTET.
• Step 2: Find the option to check the result for CTET 2024 on the homepage and click on the same.
• Step 3: Candidates must now log in using the required credentials, such as application number and date of birth.
• Step 4: CTET result will appear on the screen and will carry some important details such as total marks of the exam, marks obtained by the candidate, pass or fail etc.
• Step 5: Candidates have to download their admit card and take a printout of the same. If the candidate is qualified, they can use the CTET eligibility certificate to apply for teaching jobs at the school level.

The CTET cut-off score for Paper 1 is 60% of the total marks for the general category and 55% for the SC/ST/OBC category. Candidates must secure the qualifying marks to get the eligibility certificate
