Example 1: Find Cube Root of 6859

Step 1

Identify the last three digits and make groups of three digits from right side. i.e., 6859 can be written as
6, 859
Step 2
Take the last group which is 859. The last digit of 859 is 9.
Remember point 2, If last digit of perfect cube=9, last digit of cube root =9
Hence the right most digit of the cube root =9
Step 3
Take the next group which is 6
Find out which maximum cube we can subtract from 6 such that the result ≥0
We can subtract 1^3=1 from 6 because 6−1=5 (If we subtract 2^3=8 from 6, 6−8=−2which is <0)
Hence the left neighbor digit of the answer =1
i.e., answer =19
