CUSAT CAT Exam Pattern 2023: The Cochin University of Science and Technology conducts the CUSAT CAT exam and releases the exam pattern on the official website. CUSAT CAT is a state-level entrance examination conducted in the state of Kerala. The exam authorities will soon notify the dates for the conduct of the exam.

The exam is conducted for candidates wishing to be admitted to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Kerala. According to the exam pattern, the Common Admission Test consists of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. Each question carries three marks. NOTE:

• A minimum of 10 marks are to be scored separately for Mathematics and 10 for Physics and Chemistry combined in the CAT examination.
• This requirement of minimum marks will not apply to candidates from Kerala Scheduled Caste and Kerala Scheduled Tribe communities.

CUSAT CAT 2023 Marking Scheme

Candidates can check the marking scheme for CUSAT CAT 2023 below:

• For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded +3 marks.
• For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
• The candidate will be marked zero for unanswered questions.

Tie-breaking Criteria

In case of a tie, the exam authorities will consider the total number of questions correctly answered. Candidates with a higher number of correct answers will get a higher rank. If the tie persists, the marks scored in the individual test will be considered. As seen in previous years, the exam authorities are found to consider the marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in order of preference to break the tie. If the tie persists, the authorities break the tie as per the dates of birth of the candidate. In this case, the older candidate gets a higher rank than the younger candidate. The last parameter of breaking the tie is to rank the candidates in alphabetical order.

The CUSAT CAT syllabus is divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The CUSAT CAT is based on Class 11 and 12 syllabi of higher secondary courses.
