Georgia becomes 1st American State to pass a resolution condemning Hinduphobia
The Georgia Assembly has passed a resolution condemning Hinduphobia, making it the first American State to take such a legislative measure.
The resolution was introduced by Representatives Lauren McDonald and Todd Jones from Forsyth County in the suburbs of Atlanta, home to one of the largest Hindu and Indian-American diaspora communities in Georgia.
It reportedly notes that Hinduism is the world’s largest and oldest religion, encompassing diverse traditions and belief systems with values of acceptance, mutual respect, and peace.
According to the Hindu advocacy group Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA), Forsyth County is home to one of the largest Hindu and Indian-American diaspora communities in the State.

PhonePe announced a new E-Commerce initiative called Pincode App. This can be accessed on ONDC Network.
Bangalore becomes the first Indian city to host groceries and other comestibles. This is a shopping app where other cities and categories will be included soon.

Telangana announces “cool roof” policy to reduce the impact of heat on buildings
Telangana announced its “cool roof” policy to reduce the impact of heat on buildings. Cool roof policy is mandatory for all government and non-residential commercial buildings.
It aims to make buildings thermally resilient and reduce their energy consumption. An occupancy certificate would only be given after compliance.
It enumerates three different materials to insulate the roof Paints or liquids with high reflectivity, Prefabricated material like polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membranes or bitumen-based sheeting, high albedo, and ceramic mosaic tiles or shingles.

Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP)
Recently, Britain agreed to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
CPTPP is a trade agreement (FTA) that was agreed upon in 2018 between 11 countries. These include Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.
Unlike the European Union, Britain does not have a single market for goods or services.
The CPTPP is a separate treaty that incorporates, by reference, the provisions of the original Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, with the exception of a limited number of provisions pertaining mainly to intellectual property and investor-state dispute settlement, which will be suspended once the CPTPP comes into force.
CPTPP is helping to create jobs and strengthen economic relations.
It is an ambitious and high-standard trade agreement covering virtually all aspects of trade and investment.

Indigenous Anti Tank Guided Missile, Amogha-III, tested successfully
Bharat Dynamics (BDL) has recently successfully conducted a field firing test of its latest 3rd generation man-portable Anti Tank Guided Missile (ATGM), Amogha-III.
The Amogha-III Missile has been developed indigenously under Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP).
It is a third-generation fire-and-forget Anti-Tank Guided Missile.
Developed by the Research and Development Division of BDL, the missile also has a dual-mode IIR (Imaging Infra-Red) seeker with a range of 200 to 2500 metres.
The missile can be fired in lock-on-before-launch (LOBL) mode, and its anti-armour tandem warhead can penetrate in excess of 650 mm beyond Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA).

India and Romania sign the first Defence Cooperation Agreement
Romania’s deputy defence minister, Simona Cojocaru, recently met with India’s defence secretary, Giridhar Aramane, in New Delhi, during which the two countries signed their first Defence Cooperation Agreement.
Cojocaru emphasised the significance of the pact, saying that it would provide the basis for expanding their military relationship and offering opportunities to work together in various fields.
She also noted that Romania and India had already collaborated in a multinational environment, such as UN missions, and highlighted their joint contribution to enhancing stability and strengthening peace and security.
China renames places in Arunachal Pradesh
China’s ministry released the “standardised” names for 11 places in “Zangnan”, which is Chinese nomenclature for the northeastern state.
The named areas included two residential areas, five mountain peaks and two rivers.
This is the third batch of names in Chinese characters, Tibetan and pinyin, announced by China.
India-China border disputes
Western Sector (2152 km)

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was invited to France for the Bastille Day parade.
The French military parade, also known as the Bastille Day Military Parade, is also known as the Military Parade of 14 July, which will be performed in Paris on the morning of 14 July.
This day is marked as France’s National Day. It is celebrated with a mixture of solemn military parades and easygoing dancing, and fireworks.
