Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Centre For Personnel Talent Management (CEPTAM) conduct the DRDO Multi-tasking Staff (MTS) recruitment process. DRDO is one of the world’s most advanced defence technology manufacturers. The DRDO MTS Tier II exam is an online computer-based test (CBT) which will be conducted soon by the exam authorities.

DRDO MTS exam is a central government examination conducted by the DRDO, which works under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. DRDO recruits young aspirants through DRDO MTS Tier I and Tier II examinations. Candidates who have completed their 10th standard or ITI can apply for the DRDO MTS examination. DRDO Multi-tasking Staff Age Criteria

Applicants for the post of Multi-Tasking Staff must be over the age of 18 and under 25.

Education Qualification

Applicants must have completed the EQR as of the important date of eligibility. Applicants must have done Class 10th from a well-recognized board or Industrial Training Institute pass. 

Candidates waiting for the final examination result as of the important eligibility date for the specific qualification will not be eligible to apply for the exam. 

Medical Fitness: Applicants must be in good mental and physical health and from physical deformities. This may hinder the efficient discharge of duties. Therefore, short-listed candidates will undergo a medical examination as per the competent authority before the offer of appointment is issued. If the applicant is found unfit, then the candidature will be cancelled.

PwD candidates: Applicants suffering from any disability must select the following PwD category while filling out the application form. Let’s have a glimpse of the categories:

  • CAT A: Blindness and low vision
  • CAT B: Deaf and hard of hearing

DRDO MTS Tier II Exam Pattern

Exam counselling

Candidates need to appear in both Tier-I and Tier-II exams and secure the expected cut-off marks to get selected for the applied post. The DRDO MTS is a non-ministerial post with a lucrative pay scale ranging from Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900 (per the 7th pay commission). 

Tier I Examination: Tier 1 is a computer-based test that acts as a screening test.

Tier II Examination: Tier 2 is a computer-based test with multiple-choice questions and acts as the final selection round.

For appearing in Tier II, candidates will be shortlisted per the examination merit ratio of 1:10, i.e. total number of vacancies: number of shortlisted candidates. DRDO holds the right to increase or decrease the number of qualified candidates depending on the organisational requirements. Merit and final selection will be based on the score secured in the Tier II exam.

Eligibility Criteria

DRDO CEPTAM will release the exam answer key on the official website after the exam. Applicants who appear for the exam must download the answer key and compare the answers with their answer sheets. DRDO MTS Answer Key: How to Calculate Scores?

Candidates must calculate the probable scores by referring to the marking scheme and exam pattern for counting the marks of CBT Tier I and CBT Tier II. The marking scheme of CBT 1 is that applicants will be awarded +1 mark for each correct answer. No negative marking persists for any wrong answer. 

The marking scheme of Tier II mainly consists of 100 marks. The wrong question will carry no marks. Applicants must obtain minimum passing marks from the total marks. Then, with the help of the answer key, applicants must calculate probable scores.
