December 11, 2024Feet to cm : The feet-to-centimetre conversion is one of the most basic conversion methods students need to learn. Solving questions requiring cm to feet conversion and vice versa will become a lot easier, accurate and quicker. Foot is the unit of length in the British Imperial system as well as the United States customary systems of measurement. Whereas, centimetre is considered to be part of the metric system used in the international system of units.
Foot is represented as ‘ft’ while the ‘centimetre’ as ‘cm’. Foot and Centimeter both are used to measure the length and height. In this article, we have provided all the relevant information on conversion between feet, centimetre. Read on to find out definitions, formulas, conversion tables and solved examples.
A foot (Plural: feet) is a non-SI unit of distance or length. Whereas, centimetre is a unit of length and part of the metric system.
If you are given a length expressed in terms of feet, you should know to convert the value into cm. To make the process easy, let us check the simple formula used to convert feet to cm mentioned below:
To convert feet to centimetre, you should multiply your figure by 30.84.
1 foot= 30.48 cm
Hence, x feet = 30.48x cm
To convert cm to feet, you should divide the given value by 30.84.
1 cm= 1/30.48 feet
Hence, 1 cm= 0.0328084 feet.
The following examples will give you a clear idea about the conversion of feet into cm for calculation purposes:
Example 1: How to convert 5 ft to cm?
We know that 1 ft is 30.48 cm
So, 5ft= 5 x 30.48 cm
5ft= 152.4 cm
Therefore, the conversion of 5 feet into cm is 152.4 cm
Example 2: How to convert 43 cm to ft?
43 cm= 43 x 0.032808399 ft
43 cm=1.41076116 ft
Therefore, the conversion of 43 cm to ft is 1.41076116 ft

The conversion table for feet to centimetre is mentioned below:
Feet (ft) | Centimeter (cm) |
1 ft | 30.48 cm |
2 ft | 60.96 cm |
3 ft | 91.44 cm |
4 ft | 121.92 cm |
5 ft | 152.4 cm |
6 ft | 182.88 cm |
7 ft | 213.36 cm |
8 ft | 243.84 cm |
9 ft | 274.32 cm |
10 ft | 304.80 cm |
1 centimetre is equal to 0.0328084 feet. Thus, to convert cm to ft, multiply the cm digit with 0.0328084 to get the value in feet.
1 square centimetre is equal to 0.00107639 square foot. Thus, to convert sq cm to sq ft, multiply the sq cm digit with 0.00107639 to get the value in square feet.
30 centimetre is equal to 0.984252 feet.
1 centimetre is equal to 0.3937 inches. Thus, to centimtre to feet and inch, multiply the cm digit with 0.3937 to get the value in feet inch.
