GDS Recruitment 2022: The India Post started online applications for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) on May 02, 2022. The last date to submit the online application form was June 05, 2022. Currently, the applications are open for PWD-DE (Specific learning disability/ Intellectual disability) candidates from June 06 to July 05, 2022. The Indian Post announced a total of 38,926 posts for various GDS posts. The officials released vacancies for 23 circles. Furthermore, they published the vacancy for Branch Post Master (BPM), Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM), and Dak Sevak posts. GDS Eligibility Criteria 2022
Before applying online for various postal circles, candidates must make sure that they are eligible for the same. It is mandatory for all the appearing candidates to fulfil the GDS Eligibility Criteria else the officials of the conducting body will revoke the candidature of non-eligible candidates on an immediate basis.
GDS Age Limit
The candidate should be between 18 to 40 years.
There is a relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories:

GDS Educational Qualification
Candidate must have passed 10th class with Mathematics and English as compulsory or elective subjects.
The candidate must have studied the local language at least up to Class 10 as a compulsory or elective subject.
GDS Computer Knowledge
Candidates must obtain a basic Computer Training Course Certificate for at least 60 days duration from any Computer Training Institute run by Central Govt/State Govt/Universities/Boards/Private Institutions/Organizations.
However, the requirement of a basic computer knowledge certificate is relaxable if the candidate has studied computer as a subject in Matriculation or Class XII or any other higher educational level.
Other Criteria
Candidates must also have knowledge of cycling which is a prerequisite for all GDS posts.
The conducting body releases the Gramin Dak Sevak Application Form on the official website of the India Post via online mode only. In the application form, candidates will be asked to fill in details such as applicant name, contact number, parent’s names, date of birth, community, religion, nationality, and more. It is advised to all the aspirants to mention the asked details diligently else their application invites will not be considered by the conducting body. There will be three stages for the completion of the GDS application process – Registration, Payment of Application Fees, and Filling out the Application Form.
Stage 1: Registration Step 1: Visit the official website at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. Step 2: Click on the ‘Registration’ link. Step 3: Enter the details such as Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email, and other required details and submit. Step 4: Verify the OTP. A unique ‘Registration Number’ will be generated.
Stage 2: Fee Payment
Step 1: Click on the link – ‘Fee Payment’
Step 2: Enter your Registration Number, Name, and other details.
Step 3: Check the details and click on the ‘Make Payment’ button.
Step 4: Complete the transaction through online mode (using credit/debit cards or Net Banking).
Step 5: If you wish to pay through offline mode, visit the Post Offices and pay the fee in cash.
Step 2: Fill out the application form with personal, educational, and other details.
Step 3: Upload the scanned copies of the Photograph, Signature, and other documents (if applicable).
Step 4: Select the ‘Post Preferences’ from the available postal circle vacancies.
Step 5: Preview the application form and check the details carefully. Make changes if needed. Thereafter, submit the application form.
Step 6: Take the printout of the filled application form for future reference.
GDS Application Fee 2022
It is mandatory for all the candidates to pay the GDS Application Fees after the completion of the registration process via online mode only. The application fee can be paid by using various electronic transaction methods such as Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI Payment, and more. GDS Selection Process 2022
The selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of the merit list prepared by the officials of the conducting body. There will be no examination for the GDS Recruitment in various postal circles. Here, we have written the pointers to elaborate more on the Gramin Das selection process. Candidates are advised to go through the same to avoid any kind of confusion regarding their respective posts.
Candidates will be selected for the post based on the merit list which will be prepared as per the rules. No exam will be conducted for the selection of candidates.
The candidates will be selected based on the marks obtained in Class 10 and no weightage will be given for higher educational qualifications.
The percentage of aggregate marks will be considered for the accuracy of 4 decimals for finalizing the selection.
However, passing all the subjects as per the respective approved board norms is mandatory.
Candidates will have to apply by entering their 10th marks. In the case of candidates having Grades/Points, the same has to be converted to marks and filled in the application form.
