GCET 2023

The Goa Common Entrance Exam or GCET is a state-level exam conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education Goa. The authorities conduct the exam every year tentatively in the month of May 2023. GCET Exam Brochure 2023

GCET Age Criteria

The minimum age to appear for the GCET examination is 17 years. Students should be more than 17 years, and there is no specified maximum age to apply for GCET 2023.

GCET Education Qualification

The following are the educational requirements candidates must fulfil to appear for GCET:

• Candidates should have cleared the higher secondary school examination of the Goa board.
• Or an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other examination equivalent to the HSSC examination of Goa Board.
• They must also have acquired the minimum percentage of marks in the specific subjects. 

To appear for the GCET 2023, candidates must first register themselves. The registration process for GCET 2023 will begin on May 27, 2023, and till June 10, 2023. To do so, candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps:

• 1st Step: Candidates must visit the GCET 2022 official website.
• 2nd Step: On the homepage, click on the ‘Register’ link.
• 3rd Step: Enter your email address and create a password.
• 4th Step: You must remember the password till the end of the admission process.

The admit card for the GCET exam will be accessible tentatively in the third week of June 2023 until the exam date. To download admit cards, candidates must provide their login credentials. At the test centre, candidates can enter the exam room only if they carry their admit card.. Along with the admit card, candidates must bring one valid ID proof (driving license, Aadhar card, etc.).

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa release the GCET 2023 answer key after the conclusion of the examination. The answer key can be accessed on the official website. Candidates can calculate their probable secured scores by referring to the answer key of GCET 2023.

The GCET 2023 results will be available online in PDF format on the official website. Candidates’ roll numbers and subject-wise marks will be available in the results. The official website will also publish the GCET merit list. Candidates who are shortlisted in the merit list will be called for GCET Counselling. The seats will be assigned based on the candidate’s ranking.

The DTE Goa will first publish the preliminary GCET merit list online, which will be available for challenges for a predetermined time. The combined Physics and Mathematics scores of candidates will be used to create the GCET merit list. The final merit list for the GCET will be published after consideration of the challenges raised by candidates.

DTE, Goa, will announce the GCET counselling process offline. There will be two stages in the counselling process. Candidates must first complete the registration process and then choose their college. Counselling is solely dependent on a candidate’s rank. Candidates are allotted seats based on their first-round seat allotment process.

Ans: The GCET 2023 score is valid for one year (till the admission process closes).

Q.2: How many questions will be asked in the GCET Exam?

Ans: There will be 225 questions in GCET. Each section will have 75 questions.

Q.3: Is there any information about reservation criteria for GCET?

Ans: Yes, GCET 2023 has a reservation condition, and candidates must present their category certificate as proof during Counselling and admission. The following is the reservation quota: SC candidate: 2%, ST candidate: 12%, OBC candidate: 27%, physically handicapped candidate: 3%.

Ans: No, GCET 2023 will be conducted entirely in English.
