About HPBOSE Board Examination 2024

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) is the state educational board in the State of Himachal Pradesh. It functions under the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The Board was founded in the year 1969 under the Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968. It has headquarters in Dharamshala. Currently, over 8000 schools are affiliated with HPBOSE. The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education designs the curriculum and extra-curricular activities. 

All schools affiliated to HPBOSE prescribe to its syllabus. HPBOSE is also responsible for conducting the board exams for classes 10 and 12. The primary objective of the HP Board is to create academic programmes and prepare supplementary study material for the students and teachers.

HPBOSE Board Grading System / Marking Scheme

The HPBOSE grading system means dividing marks according to which students are assigned grades. The higher the marks or percentage obtained by a student, the better the grade secured. Thus, students should be aware of the marking scheme for their class so that they can put full effort into securing the best possible marks. The HP board grading system differs for primary, upper primary, and secondary classes. 

HP Board Grading System for Primary Classes

Students in HP Board primary classes are allotted grades according to the marks percentage scored by them. It is divided into grades A, B,  C, and D. As per the grade obtained by a student; the appropriate remark is given in the marksheet. NCERT Textbooks for HPBOSE Board

HPBOSE Board Previous Year Question Papers

The best method to win over a challenge is to know it thoroughly. Students in HPBOSE Board classes 10 and 12 must solve the previous years’ question papers for all the subjects. They will get to practice a wider range of questions and know the topics on which questions are asked most commonly. 

HP Board Practical Exams

In Himachal Pradesh Board secondary classes, practical exams hold a certain fraction of the total marks for the final exam. The HPBOSE practical exams are conducted nearly one month before the theory exam is conducted. Students must pass the practical exam. It is also a good opportunity for students to improve their aggregate marks in a subject. Practical exams are not conducted for all the subjects. They are conducted only in Science subjects. The marks obtained in the practical exam are added to the marks scored in the final examination. Students should go through their syllabus to know the list of practicals. They should understand the practical tests done at the school level to perform well for the final exam.

HPBOSE Compartmental Exams

HP Board compartmental exams are the supplementary exams students fail in the regular exam. HPBOSE compartment exams are conducted only for board classes 10 and 12. Students who fail in one or more subjects in the Himachal Pradesh Board Class 10 and Class 12 regular exams are given an opportunity to reappear for the exam and clear it. They can only obtain admission to the next class if they clear the exam. To sit for the compartment examination, students need to register for it. The Board releases the registration forms, and students can submit them with the help of their school administration. The exam is usually conducted one month after the announcement of the regular exam results. If students fail the supplementary exams, they must also repeat the entire year and sit for regular exams.
