According to the latest news, the CS Foundation program has been replaced with the CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) for candidates seeking to pursue a career in CS receive training from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). There are three levels of training to be completed by the aspirants. When all three levels are completed, candidates are granted a certificate allowing them to practice Company Secretaryship (CS) as a profession.
The ICSI was formed under the Company Secretaries Act in 1980 and is a government-recognised body that provides seats for Company Secretaries posts in India. The Company Law Board introduced the course of Company Secretaryship in 1960. In 1968, the ICSI was created to conduct the exam instead of the Company Law Board. CS Entrance 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The following points highlight the eligibility criteria for the CS Entrance exam 2022, and the same will likely be followed for CS Entrance 2023 exam:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed/are appearing in the 10+2 exam were eligible to apply for the November 2022 CSEET exam.
- Age Limit: No age limit restrictions apply to the candidates.
- Mandates: Graduates and postgraduates must also pass the CSEET exam before registering for the CS Executive exam.
Candidates are required to register on the official website before taking the exam. Find below the details of the registration process. CSEET registrations remain open four times a year.
How to Fill CSEET Application Form?
- 1st Step: For registration, the first step is to visit the official website of ICSI.
- 2nd Step: Select CSEET by Clicking on the online services link ( click on ‘Online Services’ visible on the menu bar and select the option of ‘Register’ for CSEET.
- 3rd Step: Now check all the document boxes and click on the option ‘Proceed for registration.
- 4th Step: Preview the entire application to check all details added are correct and confirm the application form.
- 5th Step: Fill in all the required details and upload the scanned copy of the mandatory documents.
- 6th Step: Fee payable comes up on the screen. Select the payment method, make the payment and download the receipt for future reference.
Note: On successful payment of the CSEET exam, it is confirmed and intimated through email or SMS on the registered email id/mobile number. A CSEET exam schedule is sent through the same.
Documents Required to Register for CSEET 2023
The list of documents to be uploaded during the registration is given below:
- Signature of the candidate (size 10kb to 20kb)
- Photograph of the candidate (size 20kb to 50kb)
- DOB Certificate (10th pass certificate)
- Admit Card/Hall Ticket for 10+2 Examinations (if pursuing) or 10+2 Pass Certificate/Marks Card (if already passed)
- Category Certificate (if applicable)

CS Entrance 2023 Exam Pattern
CS Executive Entrance Test consists of four papers. Each paper contains multiple types of questions with one or more marks, each with four options and one right answer. In addition to the objective-type/multiple-choice questions, the Institute will also administer a viva-voce to test listening, written, and interpersonal communication skills. There will be 120 minutes for the test and 15 minutes for the viva-voce on Presentation and Communication Skills.
Computer-based Test (CBT): A 120-minute test will be conducted at designated test centres. The computer-based test (CBT) will follow the MCQ format. The details are given in the following table:

Viva-Voce: The Presentation and Communication Skills (Viva Voce) test will occur simultaneously with or immediately after the online computer-based test (CBT). This exam is conducted through artificial intelligence (AI) or recorded videos at designated test centres. The final score will be computed by summing the marks secured by candidates in the two tests (CBT and Viva-Voce) out of 200 marks.

In keeping with the institute’s vision for 2023, the ICSI has recently introduced some significant changes in the Company Secretarial course. A major change that the institute revealed is that the Foundation Programme has been removed and replaced with CSEET (CS Executive Entrance Test). Steps to Download ICSI CSEET Result 2023
- 1st Step: Go to ICSI’s official website (direct link here).
- 2nd Step: Select the ‘Result’ option on the home screen.

Important Points Regarding CSEET Result
- Candidates will be announced ‘PASS’ in CSEET Exam if they score 40% in each paper and 50% in the aggregate.
- A CS qualification is now considered equivalent to a postgraduate degree by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
- ICSI will upload the e-Result-cum-Marks Statement of the CSEET result for future reference.
- ICSI will not provide physical copies of the CSEET November 2021 results. As a result, candidates should check and download their results online.
The cut-off are the minimum marks required by a candidate to qualify the CSEET exam. Candidates shall be announced as ‘Pass’ in the CSEET exam if they achieve minimum and aggregate marks in each paper.
