What is IGNOU BEd Exam?: IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam is an all-India level entrance test conducted by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Each year, the test is conducted in offline mode for IGNOU admissions in the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. Thousands of candidates appear for the IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Test every year. It is one of the most exams in India.

IGNOU BEd Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for the IGNOU B.Ed entrance test, candidates will first have to fulfil the eligibility criteria as laid by the officials. The graduates and NCTE teachers can apply for the entrance. The guidelines towards it are described in detail below:-

a. For Bachelor’s Degree Holders

1. Qualification Required- Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in order to be eligible for the B.Ed admission process. Master degree holders can also apply for the IGNOU B.Ed exam.

2. Minimum Marks Required – Candidates are supposed to secure a minimum of 50% marks in their graduation in order to be eligible for the IGNOU BEd course. The Master degree aspirants must secure 1st division in order to be eligible for the entrance.

3. Compulsory Graduation Stream- No there is no compulsory graduation stream for the candidates applying for IGNOU BEd. They can belong to any stream of arts, science, commerce, etc. and apply likewise.

b. For NCTE Teachers

1. The admission for the NCTE teachers will be done directly on the basis of their background. The teacher must have experience teaching at the elementary level.

2. A 5% Relaxation will be provided for the reserved category candidates. It includes candidates from backgrounds: Scheduled caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC non-creamy layer/PWD

3.  Certain percentages of seats are reserved for Kashmiri migrants and widows of martyrs. It will be described by IGNOU officials.

IGNOU BEd Application Process

The application process for the IGNOU B.Ed examination is over now. Eligible candidates can apply for the exam by following the steps listed below:

• 1st Step. Visit the official website hnta.ac.in
• 2nd Step. Click on the “B.Ed Application” option.
• 3rd Step. Registration: Candidates will now be required to register themselves by adding basic information, such as their contact number, email ID, etc.
• 4th Step: Credentials Geeration: An application number will be sent on the registered ID of the candidate, Kindly preserve it for the future use. Also a login password will be generated. Preserve it for the later sign-in purpose.

After the release of the BEd entrance result, candidates will be shortlisted and will be called out for the counselling process. There are two categories of candidates described as Bachelor’s degree holders and NCTE teachers. For the former ones, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their entrance test performance and the latter ones will be done on a direct admission basis.
