April 8, 2025A new study shows that nurturing a child in early life may help him or her develop a larger hippo-campus, the brain region important for memory, learning and stress responses. Every parent is their child’s first and most important teacher. Children do better and have better feelings about going to school when families are involved in their children’s school. And we cannot neglect the fact that most of the teachings a child gets, are from his or her Mother.
As a Mother, you’re naturally going to be concerned that your children receive the best possible education. The question is How?
Parents can support their children’s learning at home and throughout the school years in many ways. Here are some ideas, Let us take a look at a few of them :
– Meet your children’s Teacher
Try to meet your children’s teacher and letting them know that you are there to help. Make it clear that you want the teacher to contact you if any problems develop with your child.
– Attend P&T conferences.
Attend parent-teacher meetings and keep in touch with your child’s teacher.
– Get to know your child’s school
There are people in school including the personnel and kids, who can help your child learn, grow socially and emotionally. So getting to know the environment of the school is important.
– Keep asking them – Is everything ok?
Keep asking them if they are struggling with anything in their school or education and help them by doing something about it. You already are a parent, be their friend as well. 🙂
– Encourage them to read more
This is no secret that reading increases the knowledge and feeds on curiosity of your child. Always encourage them to read more. It’s a good habit. 🙂
– Take them on educational trips
It’s said that a change is as good as a rest. Continue the education away from school, Take them to Museums, archaeological sites, and to the countryside so that they can identify geological features and more.
– Monitoring Technology
As we know children these days connect with the technology as soon as they start speaking or walking. Monitoring your children’s television, video game, and Internet use will help them eventually.
– Reward them for good results
It is important to acknowledge your children’s success by supporting them. It motivates them and boosts up their confidence. Take them to movies or their favorite place, where they can enjoy.
