November 13, 2024The Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) is a state-level exam conducted by the Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE). The exam is carried out by JKBOPEE to provide admission to several undergraduate engineering courses in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. These courses may have different eligibility criteria of their own, so aspirants applying for them are suggested to conform to the same.
JKCET is conducted offline, and the medium of paper is English. Candidates willing to appear for the exam must fulfil the eligibility criteria and submit their application form before the deadline. If JKBOPEE later finds out that you failed to meet the eligibility, it will lead to disqualification from the exam. The authorities will release the JKCET 2023 admit cards for eligible candidates. JKCET 2023 important dates
The authorities release the JKCET eligibility criteria along with the information brochure on the official website.
Currently, there is no official notification for JKCET 2023; however, you can refer to the previous year’s information to get an idea.
Age Criteria: Candidates should be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2023 (or the closing date). There is no upper age bar.
Education Qualifications: To get admission into the Bachelors of Technology (B. Tech) course, the candidates must have passed the higher secondary (12th class or any equivalent exam) examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their main subjects.

JKCET eligibility criteria 2023
JKBOPEE will begin the JKCET 2023 application process soon on its official website. Candidates must register, fill out the application form and pay the online application fee to confirm their application. The authorities will release the admit card to candidates whose application form has been successfully submitted.
After filling out the application form, candidates must pay Rs.1200 as the required fee online (via net banking/credit card/debit card). Candidates cannot submit their application form if they fail to pay the fee.

JKCET preparation tips 2023
JKBOPEE will release the JKCET admit card a few days before the JKCET exam on the official website. Candidates can download their JKCET hall ticket using their login credentials, i.e., candidates’ application number and date of birth. The JKCET hall ticket is a crucial document. Therefore, candidates should carry the same to the exam centre.
Follow the below steps to download the admit card:
JKBOPEE will likely conduct the JKCET 2023 exam across 21 JKCET exam centres, i.e., 15 centres in Srinagar and 6 in Jammu. All the candidates can select their desired JKCET exam centres while filling out their JKCET application form. Once the exam centres are allotted, candidates will not get an option to change their JKCET exam centres.

The JKBOPEE will prepare the JKCET merit list in order of inter-se merit of candidates in the JKCET exam in descending order for the open merit category and similarly for other reserved categories separately. For each reserved category, inter-se-merit will be considered for the seat allotment in government engineering colleges. If reserved category candidates are few compared to the available seats, the remaining vacancies will be filled precisely merit-based.
JKBOPEE will conduct the JKCET counselling 2023. The JKCET counselling will be based on the candidate’s score in JKCET. The counselling process includes various stages, i.e., registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification and fee payment. Qualified candidates must register for JKCET counselling 2023 online and report to the venue to participate in the counselling process.
