November 13, 2024The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE) conducts the Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET). Candidates preparing for this exam must be familiar with the eligibility criteria, as it is the primary screening method for the candidates’ application forms to be accepted. Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test, or JKCET, is a state-level test. The exam is the first step for candidates to enrol in undergraduate engineering programmes offered by government and private colleges in Jammu and Kashmir.
JKCET provides admission to undergraduate engineering and technology courses in Jammu and Kashmir. The eligible candidates must clear the cut-off marks to get admission to their desired colleges.
The eligibility for this entrance exam is determined based on the candidate’s nationality, age, educational qualification, and subject combination. The JKCET eligibility 2023 for candidates applying to B.E./B. Tech engineering courses have been explained in detail in the table down below:

Subjects | Candidates must have qualified 10+2 or equivalent examinations with Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics as compulsory subjects having 45% marks for Open Merit Category candidates, including the Children of Defence Personnel, Children of Paramilitary Forces, Children of Police Personnel of UT of J&K/Ladakh and candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in Sports and 40% marks for the reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST/PSP/IB and other Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (RBA/ALC/OSC) |
Open Merit Candidates | The Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) category applicants are open merit applicants. Hence, they must fulfil the eligibility requirements for open merit applicants. |
Other Criteria | Candidates appearing in the 12th examination or awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the entrance examination, given such candidates have qualified for their 12th examination at the time of declaration of the JKCET result. |
