Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) is the high school examination board of the state. The MBOSE board is based in Tura, and a total of 2,179 schools have joined the board to date. The major role of the Meghalaya Board of School Education is to govern, control, and monitor things relating to school education in the Indian state of Meghalaya.

It was created to oversee the SSLC Exam until the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) abolished the pre-university programme in 1996. Since then, MBOSE has been in charge of administering the state’s Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) exams.
