The grading system is an important factor by which students are assessed. It helps teachers and students understand their performance and know if they have room for improvement. Grades can be assigned as a range, a percentage, a number or even letters. The higher the grades a student obtains, the better their performance in the exam will be. It is important to know the grading system so that students can really understand their performance and if there are any gaps.
The MSBSHSE follows the same grading system for both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. Students are graded based on the percentage they secure during the exams. The grades are divided into distinction, first division, second division, pass grade, and failed. Refer to the table below to learn the MSBSHSE grading system:
Percentage | Grade |
---|---|
75% and above | Distinction |
60% and above | First Division |
45% to 59% | 2nd Division |
35% to 44 % | Pass Grade |
Below 35 % | Failed |

The practical exams are usually conducted a month before the theory exams start. For primary and secondary classes, practical exams are not mandatory; however, schools can conduct experiments and practical classes occasionally to give students hands-on experience applying the concepts to real-life situations.
