NATA Merit List 2023: After the completion of the NATA 2023 examination, the Council of Architecture (CoA) will release the merit list of the qualified candidates. The merit list will contain the names and ranks of the candidates who have cleared the examination, based on their performance in both the online and offline tests.
The NATA merit list 2023 will be prepared based on the marks secured by the candidates in the examination. Candidates who score higher marks will be ranked higher in the merit list. The merit list will be released on the official website of the Council of Architecture, and candidates can access it by logging in with their registration credentials.
NATA Merit List 2023
A merit list is published to aid in the counselling process. Two candidates receiving the same marks are often ranked following tie-breaking criteria, which helps the authority determine the order of precedence in the counselling process. Candidates must note that CoA will not conduct centralised NATA counselling in 2023 for admission to the B.Arch courses. Candidates must check the official website of the institutions to which they want to get admission.
NATA Tie-breaking Criteria
When candidates visit the official portals of the institutions where they seek admission, there might be instances where multiple candidates have obtained the same marks. Colleges often implement tie-breaking criteria in such scenarios to facilitate the counselling process. While the tie-breaking criteria that institutions follow are at their discretion, most institutions follow the below standard pattern to resolve ties between two candidates to give them individual ranks:
The candidates who have secured more marks in the Mathematics test component get a higher rank.
If the tie persists, the candidates with fewer wrong answers in the Mathematics test component get a higher preference.
The overall marks secured in the aptitude test are considered if the tie persists.
If the tie persists, the candidates with fewer wrong answers in the aptitude test component will get a higher preference.
If the tie persists, the candidates with an earlier date of birth get a better rank/score in the exam.
