Exam Brief
National Talent Search Exam (NTSE), earlier known as National Science Talent Search Scheme (NSTSS), is a national-level scholarship exam for students that enhances and identifies the students mental-ability and logical reasoning skills. This exam consists of two stages. Stage I is conducted at the state level by SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training), Haryana. Stage II is conducted at a national level by NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training).
To qualify for the NTSE scholarship, students must clear two levels of the exam. Only the students who have cleared Stage I are eligible to appear for the Stage II exam. This exam comprises two papers – SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) andMAT (Mental Ability Test). They both have 100 questions, and every question carries one mark each, and students get 2 hours for all papers. Once the students get qualified in Stage II, they are honoured with financial support as a monthly based scholarship. Out of all applicants, 2000 candidates are shortlisted and awarded monthly scholarships.

Selection Process
The NTSE selection process is completely merit-based which depends on the scores obtained by students inSAT and MAT papers of 2 different stages. Stage-I is very important to qualify for the Stage-II NTSE Exam. The merit list will be decided by the SCERT for Stage-I and NCERT for Stage-II. The OMR sheets are processed and evaluated by the computer. Candidates who qualify for both SAT and MAT papers will be shortlisted for merit. The result is generated category-wise. Some slots are reserved for category students out of total scholarships awarded.

NTSE Haryana 2022 Scholarship and Benefits
Students who are selected after clearing both stages will be awarded scholarships every month. For now, only the top 2000 students have the chance to win this scholarship, and the merit list is generated by NCERT. The monthly scholarship amount of NTSE students for different stages of education are given below:

NTSE Haryana 2022 Stage-I Exam Structure
- NTSE paper is divided into two parts SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) and MAT (Mental Ability Test).
- There are 100 questions in each paper SAT and MAT.
- MAT is split into three groups (Maths – 20, Science – 40, Social Science – 40).
- 120 minutes or 2 hours will be given for each paper.
- Each paper consists of 100 objective types of questions.
- Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking scheme for an incorrect attempt.
- The total time for both MAT and SAT papers is 4 hours.
- Aspirants who qualify in both exams (stages 1 and 2) will be considered for the merit list separately.
- The selection of the candidates or eligibility for the NTSE scholarship will be considered on the basis of their total scores in SAT and MAT.

NTSE Stage-I Haryana Student Counselling
Students of Indian nationality studying in Class 10 in India or abroad are eligible to take the NTSE exam. The qualified students will receive a monthly scholarship to further their education in India at the secondary, undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
A total of 1500 scholarships will be awarded through this program, out of which 1250 is reserved for Haryana government-sponsored schools and 250 scholarships for schools affiliated with other boards. The scholarship amount given to students varies depending on their grades. Students in classes 11 and 12 will be given a monthly scholarship of INR 1,250. For Graduation and Post Graduation students, a scholarship of INR 2,000 per month is available. The amount of the scholarship for PhD studies is determined by UGC norms. In 2019, the total number of scholarships awarded increased to 2,000.

- The candidate must be under 18 years as of July 1, 2022.
- The student should be appearing for the class 10 examination for the first time.
- The aspirant should be a full-time student without any kind of job.
NTSE Eligibility Criteria For Students Studying Abroad
Indian residents who are currently pursuing their education abroad are also eligible to attempt the NTSE exam under the following conditions:
- The student must be an Indian Citizen.
- The students should have scored a minimum of 60% in class 9 final exams.
- It is compulsory that the candidate opts for an examination centre located in India.
- The candidate is eligible for the NTSE scholarship only if they continue further education from Indian universities.

Due to Covid-19, the NTSE Haryana 2022 exam is postponed. Usually, the examination is held in the month of November. Haryana NTSE Examination Venue: Some Rules and Regulations
- Candidates are advised to reach the examination venue at least 1 hour before the time given in the Admit Card.
- Candidates should plan about the stay if the examination centre is far from their residence so that they can reach the exam venue on time.
- Applicants are guided to follow the Covid-19 rules by maintaining social distance and wearing face masks.
- Before entering the examination hall, their temperature will be noted down.
- If the temperature of any applicant is above the normal range then a different room will be allotted to him/her where he/she can sit and give the exam.
- Note that electronic devices, paper pieces, books, wallets or any unnecessary things are strictly prohibited.

Haryana Exam Centres for NTSE Stage-I 2022
The NTSE Stage-I examination is a state-level exam that will be conducted at the designated examination centres of the state. Candidates are generally allotted examination centres in their own district. The information regarding the allotment of the exam centre is mentioned on the admit card issued to the students. Candidates are advised to get familiar with the examination centre at least a day before the exam so that they can reach the venue on time. Any concern for the replacement of the allotted exam centre shall not be accepted. Students must appear for scholarship exams only at the exam centre allotted to them. NTSE Haryana Stage-I Result Declaration 2022
The NTSE exam for the year is yet to be conducted in the state of Haryana. SCERT Haryana will release the NTSE stage-I result once the examination is over.
