December 11, 2024National Talent Search Exam (NTSE), earlier known as National Science Talent Search Scheme (NSTSS), is a national-level scholarship exam for students that enhances and identifies the students mental-ability and logical reasoning skills. This exam consists of two stages. Stage I is conducted at the state level by SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training), Haryana. Stage II is conducted at a national level by NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training).
To qualify for the NTSE scholarship, students must clear two levels of the exam. Only the students who have cleared Stage I are eligible to appear for the Stage II exam. This exam comprises two papers – SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) andMAT (Mental Ability Test). They both have 100 questions, and every question carries one mark each, and students get 2 hours for all papers. Once the students get qualified in Stage II, they are honoured with financial support as a monthly based scholarship. Out of all applicants, 2000 candidates are shortlisted and awarded monthly scholarships.

The NTSE selection process is completely merit-based which depends on the scores obtained by students inSAT and MAT papers of 2 different stages. Stage-I is very important to qualify for the Stage-II NTSE Exam. The merit list will be decided by the SCERT for Stage-I and NCERT for Stage-II. The OMR sheets are processed and evaluated by the computer. Candidates who qualify for both SAT and MAT papers will be shortlisted for merit. The result is generated category-wise. Some slots are reserved for category students out of total scholarships awarded.

Students who are selected after clearing both stages will be awarded scholarships every month. For now, only the top 2000 students have the chance to win this scholarship, and the merit list is generated by NCERT. Students of Indian nationality studying in Class 10 in India or abroad are eligible to take the NTSE exam. The qualified students will receive a monthly scholarship to further their education in India at the secondary, undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
A total of 1500 scholarships will be awarded through this program, out of which 1250 is reserved for Haryana government-sponsored schools and 250 scholarships for schools affiliated with other boards. The scholarship amount given to students varies depending on their grades. Students in classes 11 and 12 will be given a monthly scholarship of INR 1,250. For Graduation and Post Graduation students, a scholarship of INR 2,000 per month is available. The amount of the scholarship for PhD studies is determined by UGC norms. In 2019, the total number of scholarships awarded increased to 2,000.

Due to Covid-19, the NTSE Haryana 2022 exam is postponed. Usually, the examination is held in the month of November. All the details of NTSE Haryana 2022 will be available on the official website of SCERT. SCERT Haryana will release the admit cards for NTSE Haryana 2022 admit cards at least one week before the exam. Some Instructions that must be followed in the Examination hall are as follows:
The NTSE Stage-I examination is a state-level exam that will be conducted at the designated examination centres of the state. Candidates are generally allotted examination centres in their own district. The information regarding the allotment of the exam centre is mentioned on the admit card issued to the students. Candidates are advised to get familiar with the examination centre at least a day before the exam so that they can reach the venue on time. Any concern for the replacement of the allotted exam centre shall not be accepted. Students must appear for scholarship exams only at the exam centre allotted to them. If the candidate reporting at the exam centre other than the one mentioned in the admit card will not be allowed to enter the exam hall and write the exam.
SCERT will release the NTSE Haryana 2022 answer key along with the NTSE result on the official website. Many schools and coaching institutes also provide the NTSE answer key for the students who appear for the exam. NTSE Haryana 2022 answer key gives the correct answers to all the questions asked in the exam. Students are suggested to use this NTSE answer key to check their performance in the exam and compare their answers with the correct ones so that they can calculate their probable score.
Cut-off is the minimum qualifying marks that students must score in the exam to get qualified for next level or stage-II in the NTSE Exam. Cut-off of NTSE stage-I will be released based on the difficulty level of the exam, the number of students who appeared for the exam and more. NTSE Haryana will release the cut-off score along with the exam result. Students who have obtained the NTSE stage-I cut-off are eligible for NTSE stage-II. Candidates will not be qualified for stage-II if they do not not meet the sectional cutoff in Stage-I even if they meet the overall cutoff score.
