Exam Syllabus

NTSE Stage I – Karnataka 2022 Syllabus

Students should be aware that the NTSE stage 1 will incorporate questions from the Karnataka state education board’s modified syllabus of classes 9 and 10. The Karnataka board has reduced the portions and limited the class 10th syllabus this year due to the escalating Covid-19 pandemic.

Questions from the topics that have been removed will be excluded (not asked) from the NTSE stage 1 examination. The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2022 syllabus is mostly based on topics studied in grades 9 and 10 of the Karnataka board.

The mental ability test (MAT) and scholastic aptitude test (SAT) are two parts of the NTSE syllabus. Maths, science, and social science constitute the NTSE SAT syllabus, whereas verbal and non-verbal reasoning makes up the MAT syllabus. The syllabus for both levels, stage I and stage II, is the same. It is important to remember that the NCERT does not really have a specific NTSE examination syllabus.

Study Plan to Maximise Score

NTSE Stage I - Karnataka 2022 Preparation Tips

The proper preparation for the MAT paper is mandatory for the students to score good marks. We have provided some tips below that you can follow during your MAT preparation:

  • The water image, mirror image, paper folding, Venn diagrams, and syllogism problems are all rather straightforward. Starting with this type of problem and solving it may help you stay on track.
  • Following that, you should focus on questions based on blood relation, direction, and rating.
  • Now proceed with caution to the problems based on number series, numerical analogy, and classification. On these themes, there may be a combination of easy, moderate, and tough questions. So, if you can comprehend the patterns in one sitting, solve them right away; otherwise, leave them to the end because they might be time-consuming and stressful. However, keep in mind that 70-80% of these sorts of problems are simple to tackle.
  • The questions that are based on paragraphs should be addressed at the conclusion. It’s possible that you’ll have to read the text twice or three times to answer all of the questions. This might take some time. As a result, establish a steady pace from the start and set aside enough time to answer these sorts of questions.

The proper preparation for the SAT paper is mandatory for the students to score good marks. We have provided some tips below that you can follow during your SAT preparation:

  • To save time and prevent pressure, it is highly advised that you begin with the Social Science or Biology part. Maintaining a high level of speed and accuracy in these parts will allow you to save time on calculation-based maths problems.
  • In 60-70 minutes, complete theoretical questions in social science, biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as direct problems in mathematics. In this manner, if there are any tough maths problems or lengthy calculation-based questions in physics or chemistry, you will have enough time (around 20-30 in number). In conclusion, try the longer and more difficult questions first.

NTSE Stage I - Karnataka 2022 Exam Taking Strategy

There are certain points about the exam taking strategy of NTSE Karnataka stage 1 examination are listed below.

  • In both the MAT and the SAT, the elimination procedure can be useful in obtaining the correct answer. It may be used everywhere.
  • Fill the OMR at regular intervals rather than saving it for the end.
  • Because the NTSE stage-I has no negative grading, attempting all questions will help you in scoring well.

NTSE Stage I - Karnataka 2022 Detailed Study Plan

Students who have applied for the NTSE 2022 stage 1 test must immediately begin their preparation. Though most students continue their studies while attending school, other students devote their entire attention to studying by beginning a month before the exam. Because the exam is only a month away, you should get started on studying right away.

  • Understand the syllabus

Knowledge of the NTSE syllabus and test format is beneficial at every level, from creating an efficient study plan to developing tactics to perform well in the examination hall. Before establishing your schedule, double-check the exam syllabus.

  • NTSE 2022 syllabus

The NTSE 2022 syllabus will be based on NCERT’s 10th-grade curriculum. Students can cover the majority of the syllabus by reading NCERT books, and for sections that they find difficult to comprehend, they can use online learning options such as live online courses, recorded video lectures, and other similar resources.

The topics included in NTSE question papers are mostly from the mathematics, science, social science, English, general knowledge, and mental ability syllabuses.

  • Check NTSE 2022 exam pattern

The mental ability test (MAT) and scholastic ability test (SAT) are two portions of the NTSE, which are administered at the state level (SAT). The paper consists of objective type multiple-choice questions and is administered in an offline format (MCQs). Each right answer receives one point. To pass the test, students in the general category must achieve a score of 40%, while students in the reserved categories must achieve a score of just 32%.

  • Understand your strengths and weaknesses

Knowing your talents and shortcomings allows you to concentrate on the important things. You can hunt for remedies if you are conscious of your flaws.

  • Take mock tests

One of the greatest methods to not only monitor your progress but also your level among other students is to take as many mock examinations, practise tests, and previous year papers as possible. This will help you stay confident and give your best shot on exam day.

It will also assist you in analysing your performance and identifying ways to improve in order to achieve a good grade on the final test.

  • Revise regularly

The key to success is revision. Because you only have one month to prepare for the NTSE 2022, you can’t afford to save the last week for revision. It is preferable if you periodically review your curriculum and solve sample papers to assess your knowledge.

  • Get answers to your doubts

Entering the test room with uncertainties in your mind will only detract from your performance. So, whether you’re taking NTSE coaching or not, make sure you get all of your questions answered.

  • Solve previous year’s papers

This will assist you in comprehending the exam format and types of questions that will be asked. Based on this, you may refine your approaches and strategies in order to answer as many questions as possible in the time allotted to finish the exam.

  • Take care of your health

You should not overlook your health since you have less time to prepare for the NTSE 2022. Even if you have to study for a few additional hours, you must consume nutritious foods and get adequate sleep. What you eat and how much sleep you get to have a direct influence on your final test performance. As a result, when preparing for the NTSE, give equal attention to your health.
