NTSE Stage I Sikkim: In October 2021, SCERT the NTSE Sikkim released the notice and application form. The deadline for submitting the NTSE Sikkim application form 2021 was set for the last week of November.

The first stage of the NTSE Sikkim 2021-22 test was held in December 2021 and the official answer key for the Sikkim NTSE was released.In February 2022, the NTSE Sikkim stage 1 results were revealed.

Exam Summary of NTSE Stage I Sikkim

Each state/UT is responsible for its own examination. They have the authority to establish their own standards for determining the candidates’ eligibility. The focus of this investigation is used to suggest a fixed number of applicants for the second level test that will be conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). This figure is based on the number of students enrolled in Classes IX and X in various schools and States/UTs. The candidates will be recommended based on their performance in the written examination. States/UTs are in charge of this. 

The goal of the NTSE is to provide scholarships to deserving students who want to pursue further education in the fields of science and social studies. Students will be able to continue their study in their chosen field with these scholarships. Students will be given NTSE scholarships based on their total performance in both stages of the examination.

The state-level screening examination is held on the first Sunday of November in all states and territories, except in Nagaland, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Meghalaya, and Mizoram, where it is held on the first Saturday of November till and unless special circumstances arise.

Selection Process of NTSE Stage I Sikkim

Students in approved schools in the 10th grade are eligible to take the NTSE stage 1 exam. Students from Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and Sainik Schools can take the NTSE in the state where their school is located. There will be no restrictions on where they can live.

Exam Pattern Details – Scoring Pattern (+/- Marking) of NTSE Stage I Sikkim

Students studying for the forthcoming NTSE test should be informed of the NTSE 2021-22 examination pattern in order to design a study strategy. The NTSE 2021 exam pattern covers information such as the number of marks assigned to each section, the exam mode, the exam duration, and more. The National Talent Search Exam is a pen-and-paper scholarship examination. The question paper will be divided into two sections, each carrying 100 marks, MAT and SAT.

Scoring pattern in the NTSE stage 1 exam is according to the NTSE exam pattern 2021-22. Stage 1 examinations can be taken in Hindi or English. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers, and there will be no negative marking for incorrect attempts. 

To shortlist the eligible candidates, NCERT uses a specific marking scheme.

  • 01 marks will be added to the total score for each right answer.
  • Negative marking is not given for incorrect answers.
  • Unattempted questions will not be penalised with a mark deduction.

To earn good grades on the NTSE exam, students must mark as many accurate answers as possible. Only those who achieve the minimal cut-off marks will be eligible for the scholarship.

It is important to note that only students who pass both of the papers will be considered for merit. The recipients will be chosen based on their total score on the MAT and SAT parts.

The following is the NTSE 2021 exam pattern for both stages:

Part 1 – Mental Ability Test (MAT):

  • The MAT is made up of problems that need analytical and logical reasoning.
  • The Mental Ability Test assesses the candidate’s reasoning, thinking, evaluating, discriminating, and visualising abilities.
  • There are a total of 100questions in this section.
  • The Mental Ability Test covers a wide range of themes, including series, pattern perception, analogies, coding-decoding, classifications, hidden figures, and problem-solving, among others.
  • The duration is 120minutes.

Part 2 – Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

  • A total of 100questions from Science (40), Social Science (40), and Mathematics (20) are included in the SAT part.
  • The candidate’s reading ability, interpretation, appraisal, and general knowledge of the subjects are all tested in this portion.
  • The SAT part has a time limit of 120minutes.

The questions will be on a level that is comparable to a class 10th or equivalent exam.

There are two papers in the NTSE stage 1 exam, they are MAT and SAT.

  • The MAT paper contains 100 questions and each question carries 1 mark.
  • The SAT paper contains 100 questions which are divided into 3 sections are Science, Social Science and Mathematics. Science contains 40 questions, and each carries 1 mark, Social Science contains 40 questions, and each carries 1 mark, and Mathematics contains 20 questions and each carries 1 mark.

Students preparing for the upcoming Stage 1 and Stage 2 tests should be aware of the most recent NTSE exam syllabus. Because the NTSE exam is held in two stages, the syllabus for NTSE 2021 is divided into two parts: SAT and MAT. The NTSE SAT syllabus covers Maths, Social Science, and Science, whereas the NTSE MAT syllabus covers both verbal and nonverbal reasoning.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NTSE stage 1 exam 2022 was held in December and January 2022, and the NTSE stage 2 exam was postponed.

The NTSE Sikkim 2021 Admit Card will be available in December 2021. The official authorities will provide the admission card in online mode on the university’s official website for applicants who are taking the entrance exam. Applicants will not be able to obtain their admit card in any other way but through the online mode.

To obtain an admit card, applicants must go to the university’s official website and fill out the required information. On the university’s official website, applicants must enter their application number and password. Following that, applicants will receive a link to the university’s official website where they can download their admit card.

Application Process of NTSE Stage I Sikkim

The Sikkim NTSE 2021-22 application process for class X has begun. Before the deadline, application forms can be downloaded from the Education Department of the Government of Sikkim’s official website. The completed application form must be sent to the DEO’s office. The conducting authority will not entertain or correct any errors or mistakes in the application form subsequently.

Students must obtain the NTSE form 2021 from the NTSE’s official website. They must also submit the requested documentation together with the NTSE 2021 application form. Students must complete the stage 1 form 2021 by the NTSE application deadline.

Documents required to fill the Application Form:

Students have to submit or upload certain documents while submitting the NTSE 2021registration form. All the documents should be duly attested by the Principal of school. The documents required for NTSE 2021application form are listed below:

  • Coloured image taken recently
  • Marking sheet for class 9
  • Aadhaar card is a government-issued identification card
  • Certificate of residence in the state
  • Certificate of Income
  • Certificate of Caste (if applicable)
  • Certificate of Disabilities (if applicable)
  • For SC/ST/OBC candidates taking the NTS Exam, a xerox copy of their caste certificate is required.
  • EWS Certificate from Mamlatdar, Daman/Diu for EVVS students for NTS Exam Caste and Non creamy Certificate from the relevant authority for OBC students for NTS Exam Disabilities status certificate for NTS Exam.

Steps to fill Online Application of NTSE Stage 1

Stage 1 NTSE 2021 application forms are available on some states’ official websites. Eligible students can apply online for the NTSE stage1 application form 2021. For online NTSE registration 2021, they will need to upload documents that have been attested by their Principal. The procedure for completing the NTSE form 2021 is outlined below.

  • Go to the SCERT website for your state/UT and select the appropriate link from the table above.
  • Then, on the homepage, click the link for the NTSE 2021 registration form.
  • Enter the requested information, such as the student’s name, date of birth, gender, caste, phone number, academic information, family income, and so on.
  • After that, upload a scanned copy of either photograph or a signature.
  • After paying the fee, get the completed NTSE application form 2021.
  • Finally, the forms will be sent to the State Liaison Officer by the school’s Head or Principal.

Steps to fill Offline Application of NTSE Stage I

  • Obtain the NTSE form – Students must obtain the NTSE registration form 2021 from the liaison officer or download it from the official website.
  • Filling in the details- Follow the directions on the stage 1 NTSE application form 2021. In the NTSE 2021 application form, fill in the requested information, such as the student’s name, father’s name, and so on.
  • Documents to be attached: Sign the NTSE form 2021 and paste a recent image. With the form, attach any relevant papers.
  • Payment of application fee – If required by the state/UT test conducting body, pay the application fee.
  • Students must verify that the NTSE application form 2021 is filled out accurately before submitting it. Check to see if all of the required documents have been attached. Then, in offline mode, send the NTSE form to the appropriate Liaison officer.

Do’s and Don’ts of Form filling for NTSE Stage I Sikkim

  • Fill out the NTSE form with accurate and valid information.
  • Only use a Blue or Black ballpoint pen to fill in all of the details in capital letters.
  • Overwriting is discouraged; instead, write details only in the designated boxes in legible handwriting.
  • Incomplete information on the NTSE registration form 2021 may result in its rejection.
  • Students should complete the NTSE application form at least 4-5 days before the deadline.

Students do not need to fill out the 4-digit centre code on the NTSE application form 2021-22 because it should be filled out by the liaison officer, concerned district officer, or centre superintendent.

Age Criteria for NTSE Stage I Sikkim

Students who were studying from an open board, and under the age of 18, and unemployed, and or entering class 10 for the first time were eligible to take the NTSE 2021-22 stage 1 exam.
