The state of Nagaland has a board of education called the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE). In Nagaland, it is in charge of fostering the growth of secondary and higher secondary education. The headquarters of the board is in  Kohima. To identify and address the numerous issues that would raise the standard of education in the state, the Nagaland Board of School Education (NSEB) was established by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in 1974. The board administered the first HSLCE (High School Leaving Certificate Examination) in 1975, marking a significant achievement and laying the stage for future goals.

Nagaland Board Grading System for Primary Classes

The Nagaland Board grading system is different for primary classes and secondary classes. In classes 6 to 8, students obtain grades as per the percentage of marks they scored.
