The Board prescribes, regulates, supervises and develops the educational system of the State for the classes up to the higher secondary level. The Board prepares the curriculum, syllabus and prescribes textbooks for secondary and higher secondary and conducts the examinations.
The NBSE Class 10 board exam is held from March 10, 2023 to March 22, 2023. The students who fail in one or more subjects in the regular exam can register and appear for the supplementary exam, which is held in June/July. The Nagaland Board of School Education conducts an annual Class 10 exam for registered students. The NBSE HSLC exam comprises seven subjects Social Science, Science, Mathematics, English, one second language from the list of options, sixth subject from Music, Home Science, FIT, Environmental Education, etc. All subjects are for 3 hours. NBSE starts the application procedure for the Class 10 board examinations on its official website in November. To appear for the NBSE HSLC final examination, candidates must fill out the NBSE HSLC application form.
