November 17, 2024Exercise 9.4 Class 8 Maths: NCERT Solutions have been designed in an easy-to-understand manner to ensure quick revision for students. Students appearing for their class 8 exams must practice the exercise 9.4 Class 8 Maths NCERT Solutions. It will help them score better marks in the exams.
Class 8 Maths chapter 9 exercise 9.4 NCERT solutions are designed comprehensively to help students get a normal approach to solving problems. In this exercise, students will get to learn the new concept of multiplying polynomials. Students can download the PDFs from the section given below and start their practice.
Students of Class 8 are already familiar with algebraic expressions. In the previous classes, the students have learned various concepts related to it. However, in the previous sections of unit 9.3, the students have learnt about various expressions.
Some of the common algebraic expressions include the following:
Some of the relevant examples for the Algebraic expressions include:
Once the students get a thorough understanding of what the various algebraic expressions are, they can get a better insight into learning the concept of like and unlike terms. This will be discussed thoroughly in the coming sections. In exercise 9.3 students will learn about the multiplication of algebraic expression.
Before getting into downloading the PDF for Class 8 Maths Exercise 9.4 solutions, students can refer to the table below. The table is designed to help the students what they will be learning about in Maths Chapter 9 of Class 8.

The Exercise 9.4 Class 8 Maths deals with algebraic expressions and identities. It is a combination of all the basic things that the students have learnt so far. In this section, the students must revise the concept of polynomials and their components. Being familiar with these concepts will play an important role in helping the students practice the questions.
Multiplication of two polynomials refers to the process of multiplying two algebraic expressions. After that, the like terms in the polynomials must be identified so that it can be subtracted or added as per the needs. The easiest way to multiply the expressions is to check if there are any like terms.
If the algebraic expression has like terms, the students must reduce to make the polynomial simpler. This can further help in making multiplication easier. The students must follow the NCERT solutions regularly in order to score higher marks in the examination.
Refer to the images given below to have an understanding of the types of questions in exercise 9.4 Class 8 Maths.
Now that students have an idea about the type of exercises they need to solve, they must ensure to practice the solutions regularly. Given below is the download link for the entire PDF so that the students can refer to them and practice offline.

To practice exercise 9.4 efficiently without any problem, the students must know what like and unlike terms are. In unit three, the students have learnt about the Algebraic expressions. However, in unit 4 they will learn about like terms and unlike terms.
In the exercise, the students need to learn how to calculate the product of the polynomials. If the polynomials have like terms, they can be reduced, depending on the condition given. They can either be subtracted or added and then changed to fit in the convenience.
Exercise 9.4 contains various polynomials that need to be solved or simplified for better impact. However, the students must first learn to identify the polynomial given. Once the students have an understanding of like and unlike terms, they can easily simplify the polynomials and make the calculations..
Class 8 Chapter 9 is a very easy and interesting chapter. Students in Class 8 must ensure that they practice the questions thoroughly to have a better understanding of the unit. Since it deals with expressions and identities, students should know that the algebraic expressions are made of two units- constants (that can’t change such as real numbers) and variables (that can change such as the alphabets).
The terms can be added to expressions to make them unlike or like. The monomials, binomials and trinomials- and the most common units. Till now, the concept of like terms and unlike terms haven’t been discussed in the article. The like terms are when the variables in an expression are the same.
Whenever students are performing any operation of the Algebraic expression such as addition or subtraction, they must check if the expression is like or unlike. Subtraction and addition are possible for like terms and not unlike terms. However, multiplication can be carried between like and unlike terms to achieve a specific result.
Any monomial when multiplied by a monomial will give the monomial itself. However, the polynomials can be multiplied by binomials, trinomials- and so on.
An identity refers to equality where all the values of the variable will be equal only. An equation cannot be an identity. When learning about algebraic expressions, the candidates can learn about identities as well. Identities will be discussed thoroughly in other units. The four identities will be helpful in calculating the squares and products and algebraic expressions. Candidates can conduct the calculation as an alternative method.
