NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Maths Exercise 13.2: Important Topics

The ex 13.2 questions are based on finding the volume of a combination of solids. While calculating the surface area, the surface areas of the two constituents are not added, because some part of the surface area disappears in the process of joining them. However, it is not the case while calculating
the volume. The volume of the solid formed by joining two basic solids is the sum of the volumes of the constituents. This concept is very important with an exam point of view. Students can develop a strong base in it regular practice of Embibe questions.

Embibe provides solutions to each and every question provided in CBSE Class 10 Maths Chapter 13 textbooks based on the latest syllabus. Students can practice these questions at Embibe for to score good marks in their exams. Embibe also provides NCERT 3D Videos, NCERT Exemplars, Embibe Explainers, etc., for.

Below are the topics included in CBSE Class 10 Maths exercise 13.2:

Sr. No.Topic Name
1Volume of a Combination of Solids
2Difference in Two Volumes
3Capacity of an Object

NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Maths Exercise 13.2: Points to Remember

Below are some important points from Class 10 Maths exercise 13.2:

  • The volume of the solid formed by joining two or more basic solids is the sum of the volumes of the constituents.
  • In calculating the surface area of a combination of solids, we cannot add the surface area of the two constituents because some parts of the surface area disappear on joining them>
  • Total surface area of Cylinder = Circumference of Cylinder + Curved surface area of Cylinder = 2 πrh + 2 πr2
  • Volume of Cylinder = π r2 h
  • TSA of new solid = CSA of one hemisphere + CSA of cylinder + CSA of other hemispheres
  • Diameter of sphere = 2r
  • Surface area of sphere = 4 π r2
  • Volume of Sphere = 4/3 π r3
  • Curved surface area of Cylinder = 2 πrh
  • Area of two circular bases = 2 πr2
  • Slant height of cone = l = √(r2 + h2)
  • Curved surface area of cone = πrl
  • Total surface area of cone = πr (l + r)
  • Volume of cone = ⅓ π r2 h
  • Perimeter of cuboid = 4(l + b +h)
  • Length of the longest diagonal of a cuboid = √(l2 + b2 + h2)
  • Total surface area of cuboid = 2(l×b + b×h + l×h)
  • Volume of Cuboid = l × b × h
