NEET Rules and Regulations 2024: NTA will release the NEET 2024 dress code and rules and regulations along with the NEET notification 2024. NEET 2024 will be conducted on May 05, 2024 and NEET admit card will be released in April 2024 on neet.nta.nic.in. The authorities will also issue NEET advanced intimation slip of examination city so candidates can download it and check their exam city in advance.
Candidates were required to adhere to NEET 2024 new rules and dress code for males and females so that they did not have to face any last-minute hassle on the day of the exam. The NEET regulations 2024 include pre-exam, during the exam and post-exam guidelines. If a candidate is found indulging in any unfair or unwanted activities that might compromise the sanctity of the exam, then that candidate is barred from taking the NEET UG exam.
NEET Rules and Regulations 2024 – An Overview
NTA will release NEET 2024 rules and regulations along with NEET 2024 notification on its official website–neet.nta.nic.in. NEET may or may not introduce changes in the list of rules for the applicants this year. If NTA introduces new pre-exam, during-the-exam, and post-exam guidelines, they will be updated under this section of this article. Until then, you can go through the previous years’ guidelines for the NEET exam. Due to COVID-19, some changes were made to the list of items to be permitted at the exam centre. Staggered entry timings will be mentioned in the admit card and provided through SMS that all aspirants must follow to avoid crowding.
A transparent water bottle is permitted.
A hand sanitiser, up to 50 ml, is allowed.
Do not forget to carry your Admit Card and ID proof (Aadhar, DL, Voter Id, Passport, or any other government-issued photo-id proof).

NEET 2024 New Rules and Dress Code for Male and Female
NTA has implemented strict NEET exam rules and regulations for both boys and girls. It has strict NEET guidelines for the dress code of NEET 2024 aspirants, which all the candidates must follow. Also, as per NEET 2024 rules and regulations, students are not allowed to carry certain items inside the exam hall.
NEET Dress Code for Male Candidates
The male candidates of NEET (UG) 2024 are instructed to follow the following dress code:
Light clothes – shirts & t-shirts with half sleeves are only permitted (full sleeves not allowed).
Big buttons, embroidery, and zip pockets in the shirt/t-shirt/pants/trousers are not allowed.
Trousers, pants, of light colour; avoid wearing jeans.
Slippers or sandals with low heels are allowed, but shoes are not allowed.
NEET Dress Code for Female Candidates
The female candidates of NEET (UG) 2024 are instructed to follow the following dress code:
Light-coloured half sleeve clothes should be worn.
Clothes should not have brooch/badge, big buttons, flowers, etc.
Trouser/salwar are allowed, and clothes with full sleeves are not allowed.
Slippers or sandals with low heels are allowed, but shoes are not allowed.
ImportantNote:
According to NEET 2024 rules and regulations, candidates coming in customary dress should report at least one hour before the last reporting time at the examination centre.
Ornaments like ring, nose-pin, earrings, chain, pendants, necklace, badge and brooch, and so on are not allowed.
NEET 2024 Rules and Regulations: Items to Carry in Examination Hall
NEET aspirants can check the list of items that are allowed to be carried inside the examination hall mentioned below:

NEET Rules and Regulations 2024: Items Barred in Exam Hall
Candidates must not carry the following items inside the NEET exam hall:
Stationery items like textual material (printed or written), bits of paper, geometry/pencil box, plastic pouch, calculator, pen, scale, writing pad, pen drives, eraser, calculator, log table, electronic pen/scanner, etc.
Communication devices like mobile phones, Bluetooth, earphones, microphones, pagers, health bands, etc.
Wallet, goggles, handbags, belts, cap, etc.
Watch/wrist watch, bracelet, camera, etc.
Do not carry any metallic items.
Any eatable item opened or packed, etc.
Any other item which could be used for unfair means, for hiding communication devices like camera, Bluetooth device, etc.
It is to be noted that the centres will not provide any arrangement to keep any articles/items belonging to the students. As per NEET rules and regulations, if any candidate is found in possession of any of the barred items listed above, it will be considered as the use of unfair means. Strict actions will be taken against the candidates.
NEET Rules and Regulations 2024 for Filling NEET OMR Sheet
Candidates must follow the following rules and regulations to fill the NEET 2022 OMR Sheet:
OMR answer sheets must be filled with blue or black pen only.
The use of a pencil to mark bubbles is strictly prohibited.
Do not partially fill or mark those bubbles outside the demonstrated areas.
Four dots are present at the corners of OMR answer sheets called ‘Index Points’. No scribbling of pen or pencil is allowed around its area. If any scribbling is found, that answer sheet will be strictly rejected and debarred for the calculation of its result.
Marking of multiple bubbles is allowed only for MCQs. If you mark more than one circle in a single-choice question, the answer will be considered as being wrong.
Do not make any stray marks on the OMR Sheet.
Do not pin or staple anything with the OMR Sheet.
OMR sheet should not be punched or tied.
The OMR sheet should not be folded.
NEET Exam Day Guidelines 2024
Candidates are required to adhere to some more NEET guidelines on the day of the exam. Read the below-mentioned points to avoid the cancellation of candidature.
Candidates should reach the examination centre 1 hour in advance of the reporting time for smooth entry to the examination hall.
The necessary documents that are allowed to carry in the examination hall include NEET admit card, passport-size photographs, postcard-size photographs, authorised ID proof, and a PwD certificate (if applicable).
The authorities will not provide any facilities at NEET 2024 exam centres to keep candidates’ belongings like wallets, watches, keys, mobile phones, etc.
In case of any difficulty in understanding the question in the language opted, its English translation will be considered final.
If some deviation is required due to unavoidable (medical, etc.) circumstances, the candidate must seek specific approval of NTA before the Admit Cards are issued.
NEET Guidelines 2024 for Reporting Time at Test Centre
To ensure proper social distancing and discourage crowding at the NEET exam centre entrance, candidates will be allowed to enter the test centre at the specified staggered time slots mentioned in their admit card.
Candidates are advised to reach the examination centre well before the last reporting time to avoid any last-minute hassle.
Candidates wearing customary dress are advised to reach the examination centre latest by 12:30 (noon) to avoid any last-minute inconvenience.
