The NEET scorecard is an essential document. It comprises crucial information about the candidate, exam, and performance, such as:
All registered aspirants must also be familiar with calculating NEET scores and rank to understand that everything printed on the final result is correct and that the marking scheme has been followed correctly.
Here is the formula to calculate NEET scores:
Formula to Calculate NEET Score = (Number of Correct Attempts x 4) – (Number of Incorrect Attempts x 1)
Based on the NEET scores, percentile, All India Rank (AIR), and category-wise ranks are prepared. We will also add these once the result is out officially.
As the NTA prepared and declared the final scorecard of the entrance test, aspirants will also need a direct PDF link so they do not have to navigate the website. We have added the direct link to the NEET exam scorecard in the following table once declared officially:

NTA also releases the toppers list of NEET, the list of those who score the All India Rank (AIR) in the entrance test. The NEET list of toppers is further divided into different categories: state-wise toppers’ list, percentile-wise list, category-wise list (PwD, UR, PWR, SC, ST, OBC-NCL), rank-wise list, gender-wise list (for male and female aspirants). We have added all such lists in the NEET toppers list article.
Another critical point to note while reviewing the performance in the test is ‘Percentile’. So, using the NEET percentile, students can know how many students have scored more than a particular candidate. The NEET percentile is calculated based on the NEET raw scores and represents the toppers’ positions in the ranking system. The percentile, therefore, is also used while preparing the NEET toppers’ list.
Like the NEET cut-off, the percentile of the entrance test also varies depending on candidates’ categories, which is how the ‘Qualifying Criteria’ are determined. Take a look at the previous year’s category-wise qualifying criteria:
Category | NEET 2023 Cut-off Percentile | NEET 2023 Cut-off Marks |
---|---|---|
General (UR / EWS) | 50th Percentile | 720-137 |
SC/ST/OBC | 40th Percentile | 136-107 |
General (UR / EWS & PH) | 45th Percentile | 136-121 |
SC/ST/OBC-PwD | 40th Percentile | 120-107 |
Due to many applicants applying for the entrance test, there could be a case when two or more candidates may score the same marks in NEET 2025. And, since all high-scoring aspirants must be ranked based on their test marks, there must be some strategic tie-breaking criteria.
NTA, following the guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC), has defined the following criteria to break the tie in the identical NEET scores, and it shall be effective from 2025:
Note: NTA has removed the age factor from the tie-breaking standard.
After NTA will release NEET scores, it will schedule the counselling rounds for State and All-India quota seats. Also, all aspirants must register online for the NEET counselling round. Last year, the Directorate of UR of Health Services (DGHS) organised the counselling round of 15% All India Quota Seats, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, Seats of AFMC and ESIC, AMU & BHU. The counselling process will stop once the seats have been filled. For more details, candidates can log on to the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee, i.e., mcc.nic.in.
