The government will create and issue the state rank list of NEET 2023 based on the information provided during registration and the marks acquired in pen and paper-based tests.

• It should be observed that the state rank list is released after the NEET results are announced.
• Before starting the state-level allotment procedure, states such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will give a list of candidates graduating from Class 12 in their respective states. The list will be compiled using information given by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
• States such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will provide a list of candidates graduating Class 12 from their respective states before starting the state-level allotment procedure.
• All interested students must complete the application form by the deadline. The tentative NEET state-wise merit list 2023 will be created based on this.
• Aspirants on the merit list can go to document verification sessions, which are usually done offline, with the necessary documents/certificates.
• Thereafter, the state authority will publish final state merit lists of NEET, which will be the source for calling eligible aspirants for state-level counselling and admission process.
• Following that, the state authorities will issue the final state NEET merit lists, which will be used to invite qualified candidates for state-level counselling and admissions.
• For admission to undergraduate medical courses, states such as Tamil Nadu normally provide a distinct merit list for government and private colleges.
• Because the counselling for AFMC, Pune will take place separately, the merit list for the institute will be disseminated separately by the relevant authorities.
• MCC will announce the NEET merit list 2023 for admissions to colleges affiliated with Central Universities such as BHU (Banaras Hindu University), AMU (Aligarh Muslim University), DU (Delhi University), and JMI (Jamia Milia Islamia).

NEET Tie-Breaking Criteria 2024

National Medical Commission (NMC) brings a new rule for tie-breaking criteria to be effective from 2024. According to NMC, if two or more candidates receive the same score in the admission examination, the tie-breaking conditions listed below will be used.

• The candidate with the highest score in Physics, followed by Chemistry and then Biology (Botany + Zoology), will be given first priority and will be assigned a higher rank on the NEET 2024 state merit list.
