NMMS Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2023: The National Means-cum-Merit scholarship (NMMS) was launched to award scholarships to meritorius students of economically-weaker sections, to encourage them to complete their secondary education. State Council of Education Research and Training prescribes the NMMS exam pattern and syllabus. Candidates appearing for the exam must prepare for the exam in sync with the NMMS syllabus and exam pattern.
According to the NMMS test structure, there are two papers, namely, MAT (Mental Ability Test) and SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). Each paper comprises 90 MCQs to be solved within 90 minutes each. The NMMS exam pattern consists of two papers – Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastics Aptitude Test (SAT). Candidates preparing for the exam must have an in-depth knowledge of the NMMS Syllabus. There are no predefined topics under the syllabus of the NMMS exam. However, the difficulty level of the NMMS exam remains similar to that of a class VII and VIII student.
The paper tests the verbal as well as non-verbal abilities of the candidates, which requires reasoning and critical thinking skills. Some of the topics under the NMMS MAT are as follows:
