JEE Main 2022: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE Main 2022 exam for admission of candidates to undergraduate engineering courses in various participating institutions. Qualifying JEE Main 2022 will also serve as an eligibility criterion to appear for JEE Advanced 2022, which will be conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to different IITs across the country. The exam was recently rescheduled by the exam conducting body, and the new JEE Main 2022 exam dates for Session 1 and Session 2 fall in June and July, respectively.

JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria
While there is no age limit for attempting JEE Main exam 2022, candidates can take the examination 6 times for 3 years after passing their 12th Standard exams. Candidates willing to appear for JEE Main 2022 exam should have cleared their 12th Standard exam in 2020, 2021, or 2022. For instance, if you have passed the 12th standard exams in 2020, 2021, or even if you are appearing for your 12th exams in 2022, you can attempt the JEE Main 2022 exam. Also, candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII as compulsory subjects. However, it is ideal to stay updated with the JEE Main Eligibility Criteria before registering for the exam. Check this table about eligibility criteria:

JEE Main 2022 Application Form
Candidates can apply for JEE Main 2022 exam online on the official website of NTA- jeemain.nta.nic.in. The registration process for JEE Main 2022 Session 1 started in March, and the last date to apply online was April 5, 2022. Even though NTA had mentioned in the official JEE Main 2022 brochure that there would be no provision for application correction this year, it opened the application correction window for Session 1 from April 6 to April 8, 2022. The application process for JEE Main 2022 Session 2 is yet to start on the official website of NTA. The details of JEE Main 2022 application are discussed in this section to help the candidates with their JEE main 2022 application process.
The JEE Main 2022 application process is divided into three main steps, i.e. registration, filling out the application form, and application fee payment. The applicant may choose to complete the three steps at the same time or in parts. Given below are the detailed steps to apply online for JEE Main 2022 Exam:
Step 1: JEE Main 2022 Registration
JEE Main 2022 registration is the first step in the application process. To register online for JEE Main 2022 exam, candidates have to visit the official website of NTA, i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can select the option of New Registration and enter their personal details like name, parents’ name, date of birth, gender, valid id proof, and address. They can generate a password that will be used to log in to the portal for further JEE Main 2022 processes. Candidates will also receive an application number that will be generated automatically by the system.
Note: Candidates also need to enter an automatically generated OTP that they will receive on the registered mobile number at the time of registration.
Step 2: JEE Main Application Form
After completing the registration, the candidates need to fill out the JEE Main 2022 application form. They will have to fill in the required details like their academic details, parents’ income details, preferred language for the exam, preferred JEE Main exam centres, papers applying for (i.e. Paper-I for B.E./B.Tech. and Paper-II for B.Arch./B.Plan), etc. Candidates will have to select four exam centres in the order of their preferences.
Step 3: Uploading Scanned Documents
Candidates need to upload the necessary documents, as specified by NTA, to complete their JEE Main 2022 application process. They will need to upload the scanned copies of their signature and passport size photograph in the format, size, and dimensions instructed by the authorities. If a candidate belongs to any specific category, he/ she will also have to upload the category certificate at the time of filling out the JEE Main 2022 application form.
Step 4: Complete Payment of Application Fees
The payment of JEE Main 2022 application fee is the final step of the application process. Candidates have to pay the JEE Main 2022 application fees online. They can make the payment using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, or Paytm Services. After successfully completing the payment process, the confirmation of fee payment will be displayed on their screens.
Step 5: Take Printouts and Sign Up for Updates
Candidates are advised to print out the application form safe and keep it safe as it will be required in the further JEE Main 2022 processes. The application form will be displayed on their screens after the successful completion of their JEE Main application process.

JEE Main 2022 Documents Required For Application
To fill the JEE Main application form, candidates will require to provide the following documents during the process. It is mandatory to provide these documents. Candidates should also ensure they have the original documents for the admission process that starts after the JEE Main exam 2022.

The format of the photographs should be in .JPG or .JPEG format. The file size of the passport photo should be between 10 KB and 200 KB and for the signature, the image file size can be between 4 KB and 30 KB.

Note: Candidates will have the option to select a language while filling the application form, and it cannot be changed later.
To appear for the JEE Main exam and enter the exam centre, an admit card is required. When candidates have submitted their application, prior to their exams, they will receive their JEE Mains Admit Card, which contains details regarding their exam centre, reporting time, roll no., shift, test centre no., exam timing, and other important instructions.
The JEE Main admit card is issued by NTA and becomes available for candidates to download from the official website. The admit card is normally issued 15 days before the exam date, and candidates must carry a printout of the admit card to the exam centre. It is also advisable for candidates to retain the admit card as it is required for reference throughout admission and counselling.

JEE Main 2022 Exam Centres
NTA will release the list of exam centres where JEE Main exams were held across India and other foreign countries. JEE Main 2022 is expected to be conducted across 334 cities in India and including 12 abroad. The number of exam centres were increased the previous year owing to pandemic reasons. After the application form is submitted, exam centres are allocated to candidates. Once the exam centres are allocated by the NTA, they cannot be changed. Candidates have to arrive at the exam centres on the prescribed date and time and adhere to the instructions given on the admit card. JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern
The JEE Main 2022 consists of two separate papers, i.e. Paper – I for B.E./B.Tech. aspirants, and Paper – II for B.Arch. and B.Planning aspirants. While both of these exams are conducted online through computer-based tests (CBTs), the Drawing test for Paper – II is a written examination conducted offline.
In the Computer Based Test, the questions will be in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Questions that will feature a blank that has to be filled with numerical values by the student with the help of the keyboard. Regarding numerical questions, the official notification states that: “It is clarified to all the candidates that, if the answer for the numerical value questions is, say 5 then all the values like 5, 5.0, 5.00, 5.000, 5.0000, 05, 05.0, 05.00, 05.000, 05.0000 are correct answers”.

Note: According to the latest notification from NTA, it is being considered to provide a total of 90 questions (30 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) including theory and numericals from which students have the option to answer 75 questions (25 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).

JEE Main 2022 – Exam Guidelines
(1) Candidates must carry the JEE Mains Admit Card and a valid photo ID proof to the exam hall.
(2) Visit the exam centre one day before the exam and report to the exam hall 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
(3) A seat indicating Roll Number will be allocated to each candidate. You should find yours and occupy the allocated seat only. If you are found to have changed your seat, your candidature may be cancelled.
(4) Students need to carry their own geometry boxes and stationeries (applicable for JEE Main Paper 2).
(5) Carry a copy of the requested documents on your JEE Main exam and submit the same to the invigilator at the examination centre.
(6) Write your Roll No. on the copy of the documents being submitted.
(7) Carry an original copy of a valid photo identity proof issued by the government (PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar Card with Photograph, E-Aadhar, Ration Card, Aadhaar Enrollment Number with Photo) to the examination hall.
(8) Carry PwD Certificate issued by a competent authority (if applicable).

JEE Main 2022 Result
The NTA announced the JEE Main 2022 February, March, April, May session results from the official website. The NTA declares the results for JEE Main exams, consisting of the marks scored, All India Ranks, merit list, and a list of cut-offs. Candidates can check their JEE Main result on jeemain.nta.nic.in – the official website. Candidates have to enter their application number (from the admit card) and date of birth to check their results.
Candidates can use their date of birth, application number, and security pin to check their results.

JEE Main 2022 Cut Off
The JEE Main Cutoff will be announced after the result for all 4 sessions of JEE Mains are out. Candidates who secure the cutoff score per their category will be considered for the All India Merit List.
JEE Main Qualifying Cut-off for JEE Advanced 2022

JEE Main 2022 Mock Tests
JEE Main 2022 is a 3-hour exam, so students need to be attentive and vigilant during the exam and complete it with the best possible speed and accuracy. To achieve this, students must attempt as many mock tests as possible.
By taking a mock exam, students get a sense of how much time is required to complete all questions, how difficult questions eat up a lot of time, and how to balance time and complete the exam. Considering that every wrong answer leads to a deduction of 1 mark, it is important to be accurate in reading questions. JEE Main 2022 Percentile Vs Marks
JEE Main scores are declared in the form of marks scored in the exam. While the final results provide both marks and percentile, students would generally prefer to determine their ranking based on how many marks they scored. Let’s look at how you can determine your percentile from your marks:
The formula to calculate percentile score for JEE Main is:
Percentile Score of a Candidate = 100 x (Number of candidates who secured a raw score (or actual score) EQUAL TO OR LESS than the candidate) / (Total number of candidates who appeared in that session)
Let’s take an example to understand this:
The number of candidates that appeared in a particular session is 50,000, and the highest scored marks for the session are 275 (out of a total of 300 marks). Also, the number of candidates who scored the highest is 1 (there can be more than one), and the number of candidates that scored less than the highest (274) is 50,000. Accordingly, if a candidate has scored 120, and the number of candidates who have scored less than 120 is 37244,
Percentile Score secured by the topper, Candidate A = (100 x 50,000)/50,000 = 100
However, the Percentile scored by Candidate B = (100 x 37244)/50,000 = 74.488
Accordingly, by determining the percentile, students can calculate their rank and determine if they are due for JEE Advanced or enter their desired colleges. Eventually, at the result date, NTA releases the list of toppers and JEE Main cutoff scores.
It is also ideal to thoroughly understand the Normalization and Calculation of JEE Main Percentile to examine how NTA calculates the score and similarly approach rank calculation by looking at the trend analysis for the last 5 years.
