The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE), usually referred to as BSER, Ajmer Board is the body responsible for overseeing secondary education in Rajasthan. Rajasthan Board Class 12 Exam Summary 2023

The RBSE 12 board examinations are conducted in the month of March/April, and the supplementary exams are held in July every year. Practical Syllabus for Rajasthan Board Class 12 Physics 2023

The syllabus for the practical exam was reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students were expected to record at least 8 experiments instead of 12 (with 6 from each section) and at least 4 activities instead of 6 (with 2 each from section A and section B).

Section A

List of Experiments

• To determine the resistivity of two / three wires by plotting a graph for potential difference versus current.
• To find the resistance of a given wire / standard resistor using a meter bridge.
• To verify the laws of combination (series) of resistances using a meter bridge.
• To verify the laws of combination (parallel) of resistances using a meter bridge.
• To compare the EMF of two given primary cells using the potentiometer.
• To determine the internal resistance of a given primary cell using The potentiometer.
• To determine the resistance of a galvanometer by half-deflection method and to find its figure of merit.
• To convert the given galvanometer (of known resistance and figure of merit) into a voltmeter of desired range and to verify the same.
• To convert the given galvanometer (of known resistance and figure of merit) into an ammeter of desired range and to verify the same.
• To find the frequency of AC mains with a sonometer.

Activities

• To measure the resistance and impedance of an inductor with or without an iron core.
• To measure resistance, voltage (AC/DC), and current (AC/DC) and check the continuity of a given circuit using a multimeter.
• To assemble a household circuit comprising three bulbs, three (on/off) switches, a fuse and a power source.
• To assemble the components of a given electrical circuit.
• To study the variation in potential drop with the length of a wire for a steady current.
• To draw the diagram of a given open circuit comprising at least a battery, resistor, rheostat, key, ammeter and voltmeter. Mark the components that are not connected in proper order and correct the circuit and also the circuit diagram.

Practical Syllabus for RBSE Class 12th Biology 2023

List of Experiments:

• Prepare a temporary mount to observe pollen germination
• Collect and study soil from at least two different sites and study them for texture, moisture content, pH and water holding capacity- Correlate with the kinds of plants found in them
• Collect water from two different water bodies around you and study them for pH, clarity and presence of any living organism
• Study the presence of suspended particulate matter in the air at two widely different sites
• Study the plant population density by quadrat method
• Study the plant population frequency by quadrat method
• Prepare a temporary mount of the onion root tip to study mitosis
• Study the effect of different temperatures and three different pH on the activity of salivary amylase on starch
• Isolate DNA from available plant material such as spinach, green pea seeds, papaya, etc.

Careful observation of the following (Spotting):

• Flowers adapted to pollination by different agencies (wind, insects, birds)-
• Pollen germination on stigma through a permanent slide or scanning electron micrograph3. Identification of stages of gamete development, i-e-, TS of testis and T-S- of ovary through permanent slides (from grasshopper/mice).
• Meiosis in onion bud cell or grasshopper testis through permanent slides5. T-S- of blastula through permanent slides (Mammalian).
• Mendelian inheritance using seeds of different colours/sizes of any plant
• Prepared pedigree charts of any one of the genetic traits such as rolling of tongue, and blood groups.ear lobes, widow’s peak and colour blindness
• Controlled pollination – emasculation, tagging and bagging.
• Common disease-causing organisms like Ascaris, Entamoeba, Plasmodium, and any fungus causing ringworm through permanent slides, models or virtual images. Comment on symptoms of diseases that they cause.

Around 36,000 students appeared for the 12 Commerce stream exams in 2020. The pass percentage of the Commerce stream students was 94.49%. However, the performance of girls was better than boys. The overall pass percentage of girls was 97.36%. The pass percentage of boys in 2020 was 93.68%. Deeksha Agarwal topped the exam with 97.6%.

• Arts Stream

In 2020, around 5,80,725 students of the Arts stream appeared for the RBSE 12 exam and out of these, 5,26,726 students managed to pass the exam. The pass percentage of Arts stream students was 90.70%. Girls outshined boys, and the overall pass percentage of girls was 93.10%. The pass percentage of boys was 85.41% in 2020. Geeta Jaipal topped the exam that year with 99.4%.
