The CBT shall be carried out at the designated exam centres for Constable posts. As you can see, there are three stages or phases in RPF 2022 exam. That is, the RPF selection procedure involves three stages as tabulated below:

The RPF Phase-I, i.e. the Computer Based Test (CBT) will be objective in nature with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). There will be three sections in the exam which are tabulated below along with the number of questions and marking scheme:

The total time duration for RPF CBT is 90 minutes. There is a negative marking for incorrect answers. 1/3rd marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
The CBT will be conducted in the following languages:
The minimum marks percentage to qualify in the CBT is 35 for candidates belonging to Unreserved Categories. For SC and ST candidates, it is 30 per cent.
Candidates 10 times the number of vacancies available for each category, who has cleared the RPF Computer Based Test will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT).
The PET is just qualifying in nature and no marks will be awarded in this phase. This means it won’t be considered for the final merit listing. But passing this phase is mandatory failing which candidates won’t be allowed to appear for the next phase of the exam.

For both 800 meters and 1600 meters running events, only one chance will be given. For long and high jump, every candidate will get two chances. Ex-Serviceman candidates won’t have to appear for PET.
The PMT too is just qualifying in nature but candidates must meet all the criteria.

Height and chest measurements will be conducted for all candidates who qualify in 1600 meters and 800 meters running events. Chest measurement is only for male candidates. Male candidates whose height is below the criteria mentioned above will be disqualified and will not be considered for the chest measurement. Again, if the unexpanded chest is below the criteria mentioned above, the expanded chest of the candidate will not be measured and the candidate will be disqualified.
Candidates will be selected for Document Verification based on the marks secured by them in the Computer Based Test (CBT) provided they have qualified in the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test (PET and PMT).
In case two or more candidates secure the same score in the CBT, rank will be decided based on age, i.e. the older candidate will be given first preference.
The final selection and appointment of candidates will be on the basis of the Medical Fitness Test as conducted by the Railway Administration. Also, the candidates’ documents (qualification, category, etc.) should be in order.
