SSC CGL Selection Process 2025: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has specified the revised selection procedure for Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2025 Examination in its official notification. The notification for the recruitment of Grade “B” and “C” category posts in various Government Ministries, Departments, and Offices has been released on April 2025. According to the revised selection process, this recruitment consists of three stages, namely Tier 1, Tier 2, and Document Verification (DV).

Tier 1 and Tier 2 are computer-based exams. To be considered for various CGL positions, candidates must pass all tiers. The minimum qualifying marks for Tier 1 and each Paper of the Tier 2 exam are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS, and 20% for others. Scroll down to know more about the hiring process.
SSC CGL Selection Procedure 2025 (Revised)
Candidates aspiring to crack the SSC CGL exam must go through the latest selection process. Knowing the selection process will help them prepare well for the exam. The revised selection procedure consists of the following three stages:
Tier 1 – Computer-based Examination (Qualifying in Nature)
Tier 2 – Computer-based Examination

SSC CGL Selection Process for Tier 1
Tier 1 is the first stage of the selection procedure. SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is a computer-based exam that consists of multiple-choice questions. The exam has four subjects or sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Furthermore, the Tier 1 question paper contains 100 questions and the total mark allocated is 200 marks. The overall duration of the exam is 60 minutes.

SSC CGL Selection Process 2025 for Tier 2

Paper 1 is mandatory for all posts and Paper 2 is for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. While Paper 3 is for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer, except for Module-2 of Section-3 of Paper-1.

Candidates who passed Tiers 1 and 2 will be eligible for Document Verification (DV) with photocopies and original documents. Applicants with quota reservations must submit supporting documentation or they will be considered in the Unreserved/General category. The following documents are required for the SSC CGL Document Verification stage:
Two recent passport-size colour photographs
Original Photo ID proof
Copy of Matriculation or Secondary Certificate
Educational Qualification Certificate
Caste or Category Certificate (if applicable)
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities Certificate (if applicable)
Certificates For Ex-Servicemen – Serving Defence Personnel (if applicable), Undertaking, and Discharge (if discharged from Armed Forces)
Relevant Age Relaxation certificate (if applicable)
