Top Science Entrance Exams After 10+2 for Engineering

JEE Main: This is a national-level entrance exam conducted twice a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to Engineering programs at IITs, NITs, IIITs and centrally funded technical institutions like IIST, ISM Dhanbad etc. This is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced. Candidates who have passed or are appearing for the class 12 exam with the required marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry are eligible to apply for JEE Main.

JEE Advanced: JEE (Advanced) is conducted by any of the IITs for those candidates who have qualified in JEE Main. Candidates who qualify for JEE advanced exam are granted admission to UG-level engineering programs at IITs and ISM Dhanbad. Candidates must attempt two papers of 3 hours each in the JEE advanced exam. The question papers will be in English and Hindi. Each of the question papers consists of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

BITSAT: Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test, commonly known as BITSAT, is one of the top engineering entrance exams that is organized for selecting deserving candidates for admission to the engineering degree courses at the BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. BITSAT is a computer-based online entrance examination. The candidates who are passed or appearing for the class 12 exam with the required marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry subjects are eligible to apply. The entrance tests are held in the month of May/ June.

VITEEE: Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Test, also known as VITEEE, is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology to offer admission to the students to its various B.Tech Degree programs. Candidates who are passed or appearing for class 12 exams with the minimum required marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry subjects can apply the applications are available from December, and the test is held in March.

COMEDK: The Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) is one of the entrance tests conducted in India. The entrance exam is conducted to determine the merit of students seeking admission to the undergraduate courses in the Member Institutions of the Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation Trust (KPCF). More than 150 engineering colleges offer more than 20,000 seats through COMEDK. Candidates who are passed or appearing for class 12 exams with the minimum required marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry subjects are eligible to apply.

Karnataka CET: Karnataka CET (KCET) is a state-level entrance test conducted by the state of Karnataka to offer admission to various courses in Professional Educational Institutions in the State. Through Karnataka CET, candidates are offered admission to various streams, including Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Naturopathy, Yoga, Agriculture, Forestry, Sericulture, Horticulture, Home Science, Agri Biotech, Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry and many other courses. Candidates who are seeking admission to UG-level engineering courses through Karnataka CET must pass or appear in the class 12 exams with the minimum required marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry subjects. 

Kerala KEAM: Kerala Engineering Agriculture Medical Entrance Examinations (KEAM) is a state-level entrance test conducted by the government of Kerala for admission to colleges in the state for admission to Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary, Fisheries, Engineering and Architecture Courses. To be eligible for admission to UG-level engineering courses, candidates must have passed or are appearing in class 12 or its equivalent exams with the minimum required marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry subjects. Candidates can fill up the application form on the official website by paying the required amount of application fee. 

EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test): This is a state-level entrance test conducted by the state of Andhra Pradesh for admission to Medical and Engineering courses in various state colleges. On behalf of the state government of Andhra Pradesh, JNTU conducts EAMCET every year. Candidates who clear this exam are selected for admission to various engineering colleges located in the state. The eligible candidates can apply on the official website of JNTU.

NDA Exam: This is an all-India level entrance exam for those who wish to join any defence force and serve the nation. After qualifying, the NDA and NA-selected candidates can join the Army, Air Force and Navy as per their passing percentage during the training period. Candidates who are passed the Class 12 exam in any stream can apply for NDA Exam. 

Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test: This is an all-India level entrance test for students who want to get admission in Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) after class 12th with a science background. The selected candidates are offered admission to BSc. (Nautical Science) course.
