Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is the state education board that conducts exams for Class 10 every year. This board was founded in 1921 and held its first examination in 1923. Allahabad is the headquarters of the Uttar Pradesh Board. UP Board is also known as the Board of High School and Intermediate Education Uttar Pradesh (BHSIEUP).

The UP 10th Board administers the Class 10 exams to all Uttar Pradesh institutions. The UP 10th Board is a vital class for students because their passing grades decide their admission to higher classes. Also, this is the first time that the students appear for any board exams. The UP 10th Board is also responsible for formulating the UP Board Class 10 syllabus, curriculum design, and other activities connected to the smooth operation of the classes.

Uttar Pradesh Board Class 10 Exam Summary 2024

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, UPMSP, released the Class 10 2022-23 results on April 25, 2023. The board released the academic calendar for the year 2024. As per the academic calendar, the UP Board Class 10 exams will be conducted from February 22 to March 9, 2024. The new exam pattern issued bu the UP Board aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

According to the UP government, the syllabus for the upcoming academic session has been issued for all classes. The UP Board Class 10 pre-board practical exams were held in January 2024, and the pre-board theory examinations of Class 10 were also held in January 2024. The first-phase practical exams were conducted from January 25 to February 1, 2024, and the second-phase practical exams will be conducted from February 2 to February 9, 2024.

• The UP Board or UPMSP has issued the UP Board Class 10 admit card 2024 on February 1, 2024. However, students can only collect their admit cards from schools/colleges; admit cards cannot be downloaded online.

UP Board Class 10 Application Process

The respective schools should fill out the registration form for UP Board Class 10 students. The students must give the necessary details to the school. The school authorities will further take these details to register the students. The registration process for UP Board Class 10 is given below:

As per the UP Board Academic Calendar for session 2024, there shall be five monthly tests for Class 10 students. As part of the continuous assessment scheme, all 10th Class students will sit for three MCQ-based exams and two descriptive exams.

The Section A of the question paper shall consist of MCQ questions contributing to 30% marks in aggregate, while the second section shall contain descriptive questions contributing to 70% marks in aggregate.

UP Board Class 10 Practical/Experiments List

The projects given below are from the previous year for your reference. 

Project Work: 30 Marks 

• Internal Assessment: 15 Marks (Questions should also be asked from the book ‘Bharat ka Paramparagat Ganit Gyan’ – Class 10th)

Note: Students should prepare any two projects from the following (serial no. 1 to 11). Teachers can also give other projects related to the subject from their level, and one project from point 12 should be compulsorily prepared by the students. 

• Verification of Pythagoras Theorem by constructing triangles and squares on cardboard or chart paper.

• To study the role of the different geometrical shapes in architecture and construction.

Note: Students should prepare any three projects from the given project list. It will be compulsory to prepare one project and project file from each section (physics, chemistry, and biology). Teachers can also provide other projects at their levels. Evaluation of all three projects will be done internally at the school level:

Project Work/Activity of Social Science 

• Students can collect photographs showing costumes of different Indian regions and specific rural houses. They can also examine if these indicate any relation to that particular region’s climatic condition and relief. 
• Students can write a short report on changes taking place in agricultural methods during the last decade and different irrigation methods prevalent in villages.

• Deforestation and Greenhouse effect.

These competitive exams are conducted to check a student’s mental ability and intelligence quotient and grant scholarships to those who crack the exams. So, to benefit, every student and their parents must become aware of such competitive exams since awareness is the first step towards preparation.

A national-level examination programme (NTSE) is a competitive exam meant for school students. NTSE’s aims are to identify students with exceptional academic talent and intellectual ability. Students are tested on the NCERT syllabus, which includes Science, Math, Social Science, and Mental Ability.

The students who qualify for this two-tier exam receive a cash scholarship for the entire academic year. The examination consists of two tests: the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Ability Test (SAT).
