UP Board Class 12 Preparation Tips
Below we have provided some preparation tips to score good marks in the UP Board Class 12 exams:
Consistent Preparation: Board exams evaluate the knowledge and understanding of all the concepts from different subjects. It requires consistent and honest efforts. So, it is recommended that you should be honest with yourself. Be optimistic in your approach and study with confidence. A thorough preparation becomes essential, especially if you are looking to score 90+ marks in the exam. Don’t miss studying on any single day. Make a habit of studying daily.
Make Proper Notes for Each Subject: It is not practical and feasible to go through all the concepts and sections completely prior to the exam. That’s when revision notes and charts come in handy. When you are studying, make a habit of taking notes. Prepare 3-to-4-page notes for each subject in which you will list all of the important points about that subject. In the notes, you can include important formulas, hints, and points to help you solve the question paper quickly.
Improve your problem-solving skills: You only have a limited amount of time during the exam, so it becomes very important to work on your problem-solving skills and improve your efficiency. Solve UP Board Class 12 practising previous years’ question papers and sample papers to make a habit of solving questions quickly. This will come in very handy during the exam.
UP Board Class 12 Exam-Taking Strategy
Below we have discussed some of the important exam-taking strategies to help students score maximum marks in the exams.
Don’t spend too much time on a single question. Divide your time properly between all the questions. This way you will have ample time to solve all the questions.
It is advisable to start with the questions that are easier and for which you know the answers with certainty. Then proceed to the more difficult ones later. This will not only help you save time but also improve your confidence while answering the questions.
For Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), attempt questions when you are sure of the answers. Try to solve the question first and if you are able to solve them, then give the correct answer.
UP Board Class 12 Detailed Study Plan
You will find it easy to pass the board exams with good marks if you have the right books and study materials with you. Below we have provided detailed subject-wise study plan to help you score good marks in the exams:
Subject-Wise Study Plan
There are 5 subjects in every stream that you opt for in the UP Board Class 12 examination. English and Hindi are two compulsory subjects while you have the option to choose the remaining 3. For the Science stream, the following are the subjects:
Hindi
English
Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics or Biology
Preparation Tips for English
To get good marks in English, you must study the subject regularly. There are different sections in English and you will have to plan your study accordingly.
Focus on the Grammar section properly as it can become a little tricky.
In the Reading section, make a habit of reading the composition thoroughly before you start answering.
Preparation Tips for Hindi
Since Hindi is the mother tongue for students of Uttar Pradesh, it is considered one of the easiest subjects to practice and get good marks.
Similar to English, there are different sections in Hindi for which you will need to practice individually.
In the Hindi language, you will need to focus more on the Grammar part as it is considered the most difficult part by many students.
When you are answering the ‘Reading’ section, keep an eye on the timer as you may spend extra time on that section and you won’t have sufficient time to work on other sections.
Preparation Tips for Mathematics
Because mathematics is all about practice, you’ll need to come up with a well-thought-out approach and study schedule. Keep in mind the following points to prepare for the basic questions that will be asked in the exam:
Revise NCERT Books: As the UP Board 12th syllabus is the same as the NCERT, students should study from the NCERT Mathematics books that CBSE has prescribed for Class 12.
Practice Mock Tests: In addition to studying through the NCERT books, also go through the previous year papers in order to succeed in the exam. Mock tests and practice questions are available for on Embibe. To pass the board exam with good marks, sign up on Embibe and start practicing.
Sample Papers: UPMSP releases sample papers prior to the exam. It helps students get an idea of the type of questions asked along with the marks distribution and the total number of questions.
Attempt All Questions: Since there is no negative marking in the exam, all questions can be attempted.
Preparation Tips for Physics
Physics is a subject that requires a lot of problem-solving. You should focus more on formulas and numericals based on those formulas.
Make a habit of solving questions daily.
Go through the previous years’ question papers and see the type of questions that have been asked in the exam.
Preparation Tips for Chemistry
Chemistry is all about reactions, chemical equations and remembering chemical formulas. So it is necessary to go through these things in detail.
Make a chart, listing all the important chemical formulas and reactions. There are more than 30 important chemical reactions. So memorise them and revise regularly.
Balancing reactions is an important part of chemistry preparation. So make a habit of writing chemical equations daily.
Preparation Tips for Biology
Biology involves practicing a lot of diagrams and figures. Make sure you practice all the diagrams well before exams.
Go through important topics and make your own notes, which will come handy during the final days of the examination.
MCQs are an important part of Biology. So practice these questions as well regularly.
