About Exam

The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) conducts the Uttar Pradesh Teaching Eligibility Test (UPTET). It is a state-level eligibility test conducted to determine candidates’ eligibility to be a teacher at various Government and Government-aided schools throughout the state. Through the exam, candidates can become primary teachers (Classes 1 to 5) and upper primary teachers (Classes 6 to 8).

As per the latest news, UPBEB will release the official notification for UPTET 2023 in February 2023. UPTET Paper 2 Eligibility Criteria 2023

Previous Year Analysis

Candidates interested in becoming primary and upper primary teachers in Uttar Pradesh should check and confirm their eligibility before applying for the exam. UPTET eligibility criteria include a variety of criteria and conditions such as education, age limit, and various other parameters that a candidate must meet before applying for the UPTET exam.

Age Criteria

Candidates who belong to the general category (UR) should be more than or equal to 18 years and less than 35 years of age. There is age relaxation for reserved categories which is shown below:

Nationality

Candidates should meet the following nationality criteria:

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates who belong to Nepal/ Bhutan /Tibet are also eligible to apply.

Domicile: For appearing in the UPTET Paper-II, a domicile certificate of Uttar Pradesh is needed. So, the residents of Uttar Pradesh are eligible to take the UPTET 2023 Paper-II exam. For the domicile, candidates should have passed their 12th grade in Uttar Pradesh. Or, candidates who are permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh are eligible.

Education Qualification

For the UPTET Paper 2 exam, the following educational requirements are needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree & B.T.C from a National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) approved institute, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks & B.Ed/ B.Ed Special Education from Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), OR
  • Intermediate (10+2) with minimum 50% marks & 4 year B.A/ B.S.C.Ed/ B.Ed from N.C.T.E./ U.G.C recognised institute, OR
  • Intermediate (10+2) with minimum 50% marks & 4 year Degree (B.El.Ed) in Primary Education, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 45% & B.Ed degree

Number of Attempts

There is no such limit to the number of attempts for the UPTET 2023 Exam. Candidates within the age limit can apply multiple times (if eligible).

UPTET Paper 2 Application Form 2023

The UPTET 2023 application form will be released after the issue of the notification. The application form will be available online on the official website. Candidates need to keep a valid mobile number, email id, passport-size photograph, signature, and other essential documents while applying for UPTET.

1st Step: Registration

  • The official website of the exam conducting authority-http://updeled.gov.in/should be visited.
  • Then the UPTET registration button should be clicked on.
  • The registration button should be selected.
  • All the instructions should be read carefully and the declaration should be ticked.
  • Then the ‘apply here’ button should be clicked on.
  • All details such as name, date of birth, mother’s name, father’s name, and email id should be filled in properly to register for the exam. 
  • Then the declaration at the bottom of the page should be clicked on.

A number will be generated on successful registration.

2nd Step: Verification

  • The registration number is to be entered which is on the next page to get an OTP via SMS or mail. 
  • This way the verification will get completed.

3rd Step: Fill Application Form

  • All academic and exam details need to be given.
  • The exam centre should be selected according to the preference.
  • The ‘submit’ button should be clicked on after filling the application form.

4th Step: Pay Application Fee

An application fee of INR 600 needs to be paid for UPTET Paper 2 on the payment window. The fee for SC/ST and PwD candidates is INR 400 and INR 200, respectively.

5th Step: Documents
