WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2025 – Detailed Information
All candidates who wish to appear in the exam have to meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of WBJEE:
WBJEE 2025 Eligibility Criteria – Nationality
Candidates who wish to apply for WBJEE must be a citizen of India.
WBJEE 2025 Eligibility Criteria – Age
Candidates who wish to apply for the WBJEE entrance test must be 17 years of age as on December 31, 2025, or should have been born on or before December 31, 2004.
There is no upper age limit.
However, for Marine Engineering, the upper age limit is 25 years as on December 31, 2025.
Candidates must have passed/appeared in 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and any of the following subjects – Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Computer Application or Technical Vocational subject.
WBJEE Eligibility Criteria – Required Marks
All the aspiring candidates must have obtained 45 per cent marks in the above-mentioned subjects, whereas candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD) are required to obtain 40% marks in order to appear for the entrance exam.
WBJEE 2025 Eligibility Criteria – Domicile
Apart from the mentioned criteria, candidates who have been a resident of West Bengal for 10 consecutive years as on December 31, 2024, will get domicile provisions.
Also, in case the parents of the candidates are permanent residents of West Bengal with a permanent residential address in the state, domicile eligibility will also be given to the candidates.

University of Calcutta
Candidates appearing for admission to all the B.Tech courses except ‘Jute & Fiber Technology’ at the University of Calcutta need to have completed class XII with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects from any recognized Council or Board.
Candidates must have secured a minimum of 60 per cent (55 per cent for reserved category students) aggregate marks in the subjects mentioned above with individual passing marks in all three, excluding vernacular first language and another language as a second language and EVS with a minimum of 30% marks in English.
Candidates applying for Jute and Fibre Technology should have passed class XII or equivalent exam from a recognised board with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 60 per cent (50 per cent for reserved category students) aggregate marks in the subjects mentioned above, excluding vernacular first language and other languages as a second language and EVS and 30% marks in English.
Jadavpur University (Faculty of Engineering and Technology)
For this university, candidates must have passed the class 12th or equivalent exam with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with at least 60 per cent (45 per cent for reserved category students)
Candidates should also have secured individual pass marks (in theory as well as in practical, wherever applicable) in each of the subjects mentioned above and with at least 30 per cent marks in English
Neotia University
For B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering and Robotic Engineering, candidates should have passed class 12th or equivalent exams with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/ Computer Science as compulsory subjects with a minimum of 60 per cent marks in these three subjects taken together.
For admission to all other B. Tech courses except Marine Engineering at Neotia University, the candidates must pass class XII or equivalent exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with an aggregate of 60 per cent marks.
For Marine Engineering, candidates must have completed as well as passed class XII or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with a minimum aggregate of 60 per cent.
They will also be required to secure at least 50 per cent marks in English in either 10th or 10+2.
West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences
For admission to B.Tech (Dairy Technology) course at West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, all the candidates should have passed class XII with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in each of these subjects.
They are also required to obtain a minimum of 50 per cent (40 per cent in the case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English.
