The West Bengal Police SI 2023 has five stages in the selection process. The candidates have to clear every stage to move to the next stage. The five stages of West Bengal Police SI Selection Process 2023 are mentioned below:
Stage I– Preliminary Examination
Stage II– Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Stage III– Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Stage IV– Final Combined Competitive Examination
Stage V– Personality Test
The preliminary examination is used to narrow down candidates for the Physical Measurement and Efficiency tests. The preliminary examination will include objective or subjective questions (MCQ). It could be a written exam or an online computer-based test (CBT). For each incorrect answer, one-fourth of the total mark is deducted. Depending on the number of applicants and other factors, the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board reserves the right to determine the mode of examination. Candidates’ Preliminary Examination marks will not be counted in the final merit list.

The West Bengal Police SI Preliminary Examination duration is 90 minutes and candidates can appear for the exam in English and Bengali.
Candidates who want to work as West Bengal Police SI must pass the physical standard test (mentioned in the eligibility section). They must also run 800 meters in three minutes. Candidates who pass the Physical Measurement Test will be invited to take the Physical Efficiency Test.
Candidates who pass the PMT and PET must take the Final Combined Competitive Examination as the next stage of the selection process. It consists of three papers: Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III.
