The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government’s basic and secondary education departments have signed a non-financial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AI-powered learning platform EMBIBE. The move is set to enhance the learning experience of around 9 million children enrolled in over 53,000 state-run secondary and primary schools, including 746 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas across the state.
Through this initiative, the UP government aims to create a transformative learning environment for students. Its primary goal is to improve learning outcomes and equip students with essential skills that are tailored to meet the evolving demands of the job market.
By utilising EMBIBE’s content library, the education department can offer students top-notch content in subjects such as STEM and offer test preparation for high-achieving students in social sciences, English and Hindi.
Through the AI-based content from EMBIBE, government school students will now be able to learn concepts through interactive, personalised, and activity-based methods, which can significantly improve their learning outcomes.
As per the agreement, EMBIBE will also provide over 200,000 videos free of cost to students. In alignment with the agreement, EMBIBE will share detailed engagement reports in terms of usage and practised questions and attempt an analysis of students each month. It will also provide a real-time dashboard to track the progress of schools.
The UP government is also making significant investments in implementing 40,000 smart classrooms in upper primary schools. It is also establishing Information and Communication technology labs at 880 block-level resource centres. The MoU is a significant step forward which promises to expedite the realisation of UP’s Nipun Bharat goals.
