PANAJI: Virtual labs and textbook contents converted to 3D will be introduced in 594 state-run and aided schools across Goa. The directorate of education has signed a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a company offering the AI-powered learning platform EMBIBE.
Over one lakh students and more than 3,000 educators will benefit from the partnership from the academic year 2023-24, the directorate said on Wednesday.
This tie-up comes close on the heels of chief minister Pramod Sawant’s announcement that the state will place special focus on education and implement the New Education Policy (NEP) from the new academic year.
“The partnership with EMBIBE will provide AI-based learning experiences to all of Goa’s students across state government and government-aided schools. EMBIBE has been a great support to our students and teachers even during the pandemic when teaching had to turn entirely digital. We are certain that EMBIBE will provide necessary guidance to several students from lower socio-economic backgrounds, and revolutionise the way our students learn with its 3D videos and high-resolution images,” state project director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, SS Ghadi.
Using EMBIBE, school- teachers can teach using state-of-the-art 3D content aligned to their textbooks and use advanced products like EMBIBE Lens and virtual lab experiments, which will help make all textbooks smart textbooks overnight, said Ghadi.
The EMBIBE student app will also be made available to students to do their homework, he said. “The app will double up as their personal guide and show them ways to improve,” said Ghadi.
