IBPS Clerk Mains Eligibility Criteria 2024

Previous Year Analysis

To appear for the IBPS Clerk Mains exam 2024, candidates have to fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

Nationality

The candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India or
  • A subject of Nepal or
  • A subject of Bhutan or
  • Tibetan Refugees (before January 01, 1962) who have settled in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

Candidates applying for the IBPS Clerk Mains exam have to meet the criteria as given below:

  • Minimum Age Limit: 20 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 28 years

However, as per government rules, a relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Education Qualification

A candidate must possess a graduation degree (in any discipline) from a University recognised by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.

They must possess a valid mark sheet or degree certificate of his/her graduation. At the time of IBPS Clerk registration, they have to indicate their graduation percentage.

Proficiency in Local Language

Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking in the local language of the state/union territory from where he/she is applying.
